Explosive environments
Switch o the telephone if you are in an environ-
ment where there is a risk of explosion. Observe
all the pertinent regulations, because voltage
peaks can trigger explosions in these environ-
ments that can cause serious, even fatal, injuries.
Switch o the telephone therefore also in the
vicinity of fuelling stations.
Explosive environments are usually clearly
marked, for example with the directive that
automobile motors should be switched o. In
such cases the telephone must be switched o
as well. Dangerous environments are for exam-
ple fuel and gas storage, production and storage
sites for chemicals, below deck on ships and
areas where the air is loaded with for instance
metallic or coal dust and the like.
