If there is sagging or damage, request a replacement
from HiKOKI Authorized Service Center, as it may result
in the band saw blade running unstable or coming loose.
NOTE
Periodically remove any shavings, etc. that has adhered
to the blade pulley rubbers.
Failure to do so may result in slippage of the band saw
blade and/or injury.
3. Inspection of band saw blade back ball bearing
supports (Fig. 15)
Periodically inspect the band saw blade back ball
bearing supports inside the bearing holders for wear.
If the band saw blade back ball bearing supports are
worn, there will be excessive force on the band saw
blade that could result in damage to the band saw blade.
If the band saw blade back ball bearing supports are
worn, arrange for replacements from HiKOKI Authorized
Service Center.
4. Inspection of band saw blade guide rollers supports
and adjustment of gaps (Fig. 16)
After continued use of the unit, the gaps between the
band saw blade guide rollers supports may become
wider.
If the gaps become wider, the band saw blade may tilt,
resulting in reduced cutting precision.
Periodically inspect whether the gaps between the
band saw blade guide rollers supports are appropriate
(rollers are lightly touching the band saw blade), and
make any adjustments if necessary.
Additionally, if the band saw blade guide rollers supports
are damaged, arrange for replacements from HiKOKI
Authorized Service Center.
Remove blade pulley covers (A) and (B), and remove the
band saw blade.
(See Fig. 12 for band saw blade installation and
removal)
Use a athead screwdriver to loosen the bearing pins.
Place the band saw blade between the guide rollers
supports and tighten the bearing pins, adjusting as
necessary to make sure that the blade is lightly in contact
with the supports.

5. Inspecting the mounting screws
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that
they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could
result in serious hazard.
6. Maintenance of the motor
The motor unit winding is the very “heart” of the power
tool. Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not
become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.
7. Inspection of terminals (tool and battery)
Check to make sure that swarf and dust have not
collected on the terminals.
On occasion check prior, during and after operation.
CAUTION
Remove any swarf or dust which may have collected on
the terminals.
Failure to do so may result in malfunction.
8. Cleaning on the outside
When the power tool is stained, wipe with a soft dry cloth
or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use chloric
solvents, gasoline or paint thinner, for they melt plastics.
9. Storage
After use, store in a dry location with a temperature
below 50°C that is out of the reach of children.
Do not store in a location that children can reach or easily
access.
Do not store in a location where the unit may be exposed
to rain such as under the eaves of a house, or where
there is humidity
Do not store in a location where there are sudden
changes in temperature or where there is direct sunlight.
Do not store in a location where there are volatile
substances that have a danger of igniting or exploding.
CAUTION
When removing the band saw blade and storing the
power tool, rotate the tension lever to the tightening side
and install the blade pulley cover.
NOTE
Storing lithium-ion batteries.
Make sure the lithium-ion batteries have been fully
charged before storing them.
Prolonged storage (3 months or more) of batteries with
a low charge may result in performance deterioration,
signi cantly reducing battery usage time or rendering
the batteries incapable of holding a charge.
However, signi cantly reduced battery usage time may
be recovered by repeatedly charging and using the
batteries two to ve times.
If the battery usage time is extremely short despite
repeated charging and use, consider the batteries dead
and purchase new batteries.
CAUTION
In the operation and maintenance of power tools, the
safety regulations and standards prescribed in each
country must be observed.
