evaporated and vapour s have dispersed.
- Make sure tha t the caps are securely fitted on the fuel tank and o n the fuel can.
B4. Replace faulty exha ust mufflers.
B5. Each time the machine is u sed, before starting, perform a general inspection and
check, in particular, all attachments, cutting assemblies, de flectors and mounting
bolts to make sure that they are not worn, dam aged or loose. Always check that
the gas throttle trigger an d the Stop button operate cor rectly.
B6. Check that the handles a nd harness atta chment point are cor rectly positi oned and

OPERATION
C1. Do not run the e ngine in a co nfined space whe re toxic carbon m onoxide fumes
may accumulate.
C2. Work by daylight only.
C3. As far as possible, avoid using the ma chine on wet grou nd.
C4. When operati ng the machine, ensure co mpliance with th e safety clearan ce of the
nylon line cutting hea d with respect to the harne ss attachment point.
C5. Walk when you use the machine, neve r run, and stay in a stable position. Beware
of obstacles such as stones and tree stump s which could trip you.
C6. Tread carefully on slopes. When working on slopes, always proceed crosswise:
never straight up and down .
C7. Do not use the mach ine on slopes that a re too steep. It is the op erator's
responsibility to assess the potential hazards of the terrain and to take every
necessary precaution for his or he r own safety. This is especially important whe n
working on slopes or rough, slip pery or loose ground.
C8. Never modify the engine settings in such a way that it runs at excessive speeds.
C9. Before starting the engine, ma ke sure there is n o-one within 15 metr es of the
machine, that the cutting attachmen t is not to uching the g round and tha t the
machine is in a stable positi on.
C10. Tak e care when starting the engine. Comply with the safety instructions and stay
clear of the cutting attachment.
C11. The engine must be stopped and the spark plug cap removed in th e following
cases:
- Before performing any servicing action on the cutting system.
- Before cleaning, checki ng, adjusting or repa iring the brushcutte r.
- The only adjustments to be carri ed out with the en gine running are carb urettor
and idle spee d adjustments.
- During this operation, make sure the cutting attachment does not strike any
object and that the machine is in a stable positio n.
- If the cutting attachment strikes an ob ject, inspect the cutting system and th e
transmission shaft to make sure they have not been da maged. Make any

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
D1. Keep all nuts and b olts securely tightened to ensure safe operation. Reg ular
maintenance is required to en sure safety and optimal performance.
D2. Do not use the machine with damaged o r worn parts. Parts must be replace d, not
repaired. Use genui ne Honda parts. The cutti ng attachments must always b e
marked with the manufacturer 's brand, the refer ence and the maximum o perating
speed. Parts of inf erior quality may d amage the ma chine and c ompromise
operator safety.
D3. Wear heavy gloves when removing and installing the cutting device.
D4. Never store the brushcu tter with fuel in the fue l tank in a room w here fuel vapour
could be ignited by a flame, a spark or a source of inte nse heat.
D5. Store in a clea n dry room, out of th e reach of childre n.
D6. Let the engine cool down befo re putting away the machine in any room.
D7. To reduce fire hazards, remove leaves, grass cuttings and excess oil from the
brushcutter, particularly from the cooling fins, the exhaust system and the fuel
storage area.
D8. When the machine is st ored or carri ed, the cutti ng blade must alwa ys be covered
by its transport guard to avoid any accidental injury.
D9. If the fuel tank has to be d rained, this oper ation must be performed outdoors when
the engine is cold.
D10. To protect the environment, do not dispose of old engi ne oil or fuel by pouring it
down the drai n, in the gutte r or on the groun d.
Your local service station can ha ve oil and fuel safely recycled.
