10. elecTrical sysTem

10.1. general

The power supply of the machine is 400V/50Hz, 3-phase.

The transmission is driven by a 2-speed, 3-phase AC asynchronous motor. The motor speed is selected by turning

a switch.

The electrical cabinet is mounted at the back of the spindle box. The emergency stop button and other switches

are on the front left side of the spindle box (see figure A).

When the switch is being turned to the position “1” or “2”, the rotational speed is 960 RPM or 1450 RPM.

When the switch is in position “R”. the spindle rotates reversely and tapping may be carried out. If the switch

is in position “0”, the machine stops.

The main motor is protected by a 3VU1340 auto switch (QF1), which can protect the motor from overload.

The machine is also protected by means of electromagnetc switch ESA 1, which is used as an emergency stop.

To ensure the safety of the operator, the electrical system must be grounded.
