■ Subaudible (repeater) tones
Some repeaters require subaudible tones to be accessed.
Subaudible tones are superimposed over your normal signal
and must be set in advance.
Each operating band and each memory channel have inde-
pendent settings.
D Turning the subaudible tone encoder on/off
q Push [V/M] for 2 sec. to enter set mode.
w Rotate [DIAL] until “T/TSQL” appears.
•“T/SQL” disappears after 1 sec. and “tO” appears.
e While pushing [FUNC], rotate [DIAL] to select “TONE.”
r Push [V/M] to exit set mode.
•“T” appears above the frequency readout when the subaudible
tone encoder is turned ON.
DSetting the subaudible tone frequency
q Select VFO mode or desired memory channel to be pro-
grammed.
w Push [V/M] for 2 sec. to enter set mode.
e Rotate [DIAL] until “R TONE” (repeater tone) appears.
•“R TONE” disappears after 1 sec. and “Rt” appears.
r While pushing [FUNC], rotate [DIAL] to select the desired
subaudible tone.
•Each operating band and each memory channel have indepen-
dent settings.
t Push [V/M] to exit set mode.
