Using the iBT3 7 1
The iB T371 c omes equipped with a W eather T ough rubberized co ver
that prot ects the char ging port. Make sur e the rubber co ver (located on
the side of the unit and marked with a s ymbol) is sealed shut befor e
operating near w at er or dust.
The iB T371 is po wer ed by a rechar geable battery in the speaker . Make
sure t o charge speak er before use.
• Connect the micr o-USB plug on the included charging cable t o the
USB Charging jack on the speak er .
• Connect the lar ger USB plug to a po wer ed USB port, such as that on
a USB A C adapter c onnected to a w all outlet. The light on the speak-
er will turn to solid r ed while charging and turn o when fully
charged.
• If the LED flashes red, or y ou notice sound dist ortion at higher
volumes, or ther e is no sound at all, it's time to rechar ge the battery .
Using Bluetooth with the iB T3 71
• Place y our audio de vice in Bluetooth mode ( often found in the
devic e’ s Settings or T ools menu) and mak e it “disco ver able”
• Press and hold the Po w er ON/ OFF Button for 2 sec onds to turn on
the iBT3 71 speaker . The first time unit is po wered on it will ent er auto
pairing mode. The LEDs will flash blue and r ed, a tone will sound as
the speaker att empts to pair with a Bluet ooth devic e.
• Select “iHome iBT3 71” on your de vice’s Bluetooth menu t o pair . If your
devic e asks for a passc ode, enter ‘1234’.
• For manual pairing, po w er on speaker , then press and hold the
Play /Pause/Pairing/ /Speak erphone Button for 2 seconds.
• Once pair ed, the light will glow solid blue and a confirmation tone will
sound. Y ou can then stream audio t o the speaker . If pairing is not
succes sful, turn the pow er o on the speaker and repeat pairing
proc edure .
• T o list en to Bluet ooth audio, put y our connect ed devic e in play mode .

to cy cle betw een play and pause modes.
• Pres s V olume Up or Down buttons t o contr ol audio lev els. Control
track na vigation fr om your de vice. Remember to turn o the speak er
(pres s and hold the Pow er ON/OFF Button f or 5 seconds ) and your
devic e after list ening.
NO TE: When unit is charging, the blue light will appear solid r ed.
Using the iBT3 7 1 Speak erphone Mode
The speak er must be on and c onnected to a pair ed Bluetooth phone to
rec eiv e calls. When a call comes in, an y playing audio is paused, the
LED will flash blue 2X and the ringtone associat ed with the caller may
sound, depending on Bluetooth de vice.

again to end the call.

When used in the directed manner , this unit has been designed and manufactured to ensur e
your personal saf ety . How ev er , improper use can r esult in potential electrical shock or fir e
hazards. Please r ead all safety and oper ating instructions car efully before ins tallation and
use, and keep these instructions handy for futur e ref erence . T ake special note of all warnings
listed in these instructions and on the unit.
1. W ater and Moisture – T he unit should not be used near wat er . For e xample: near a
bathtub, washbo wl, kitchen sink, laundry tub, swimming pool or in a wet basement.
2. V entilation – The unit should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere
with its proper v entilation. For e xample, it should not be situated on a bed, sofa, rug
or similar surface that ma y block v entilation openings. Also, it should not be plac ed
in a built-in installation, such as a book case or cabinet, which may impede the flo w of
air through the v entilation openings.
3. Heat – The unit should be situat ed aw ay fr om heat sourc es such as radiat ors, heat

9. Lightning and Pow er Surge Pr otection – Unplug the unit from the wall sock et and
disconnect the antenna or cable s yst em during a lightning storm or when it is left
unattended and unused for long periods of time . This will pr ev ent damage to the
product due t o lightning and pow er-line surges.
10. Overloading – Do not o verload wall sock ets, ext ension cor ds, or integr al conv enience
rec eptacles as this can result in a risk of fir e or electric shock.
11. Damage Requiring Service – The unit should be serviced by qualified servic e personnel
