BASIC FUNCTIONS
Notes for remote control
Make sure that there are no objects between the remote control infrared LED (34) and the infrared sensor •
(6) on the appliance.
Please note that bright sunlight or room lighting may interfere with the remote control operation. If the •
remote is not operating properly try reducing the brightness of the room or moving closer to the main
appliance. If this does not solve the problem, replace the remote control battery.
The buttons on the remote control are consistent to the buttons on the appliance. All main functions can be •
operated by remote control.
The following functions are made by the remote control unless indicated otherwise.•
Switching the appliance on / off
Connect the power plug to a suitable wall outlet.•
Switch on the appliance with the power switch (25) on the back side. The appliance is in standby mode and •
the STANDBY indicator (7) lights up red. The clock digits will flash on the LCD display (3) as the time is not
set.
Press the • STANDBY/ON button (8) to switch on the appliance. Press the button again to set the appliance to
standby mode.
Use the power switch on the back side to switch off the standby power consumption.•
Pull the power plug out of the wall outlet to completely disconnect the appliance from the mains supply.•
Notes:
If audio files are not played and no button is pressed in CD, USB or CARD mode, the appliance will •
automatically switch to standby mode after 15 minutes.
The appliance heats up if it is operated for a long period of time. This is normal and not a malfunction of the •
appliance.
Selecting the operation mode
Press the • FUNCTION button (36) to select one of the following operation modes.
Display Explanation
CD Playback audio files from CD (e.g. Audio-CD, MP3/WMA-CD).
USB Playback MP3/WMA files from USB flash memory.
CARD Playback MP3/WMA files from SD/MMC memory card.
AUX Playback external audio sources (connected to LINE IN jack).
