Observe regulations of water supplier.

Î Use a fibre-reinforced hose (not included)

with a standard coupling: - Minimum diame-

ter, 1/2 inches (13 mm). - Minimum length,

7.5 m.

Î Screw the coupling unit (supplied) to the wa-

ter connection on the appliance.

Î Push the water supply hose onto the cou-

pling unit, then connect it to the tap.

ṇ Caution

Never operate the high-pressure cleaner when

the tap is turned off as dry running will damage

the HP pump.

If the water supply is not clean, the Kärcher water

filter must be used (special accessory - order No.

4.730-059).

Î Screw HP hose on to HP outlet on appliance.

Î Push the appropriate spray lance on to the

handgun and fasten it by turning it through

90°.

Î Open tap.

Î Plug in the main plug.

Î Set main switch to “I/ON”.

Î Press safety catch on the handgun to release

it and pull lever.

ṇ Risk of injury

The handgun is subjected to a recoil force when

the water jet is discharged. Make sure that you

have a firm footing and are also holding the

handgun and spray lance firmly.

EPC: 3-Step electronic power control.

Î Pull lever on the spray gun briefly (less than

one second) to change EPC-setting.

The EPC power steps will be changed one

after another, from Step 3, over Step 2, to

Step 1. From Step 1 it will be changed back

to Step 3.

– Step 3 - Maximum:

Maximum pressure and water flow.

– Step 2 - Medium:

Reduced pressure and water flow.

– Step 1 - Soft:

Gentle pressure and water flow.

Note: The electronic saves the EPC-setting for

20 minutes. After longer breaks or after the

mains plug was unplugged, the EPC-setting will

be reset to Step 3.

For normal cleaning tasks.

For strong contaminations.

Note

Detergent can only be added when the appliance

is being operated in low pressure mode.

All washing brushes supplied by Kärcher are de-

signed for use with detergents.

Î Detach spray lance from the handgun

A low-pressure jet is generated if the spray

lance is not attached to the handgun.

Î During low pressure operation, detergent is

automatically drawn in from the filled deter-

gent tank.

1 Spray a small dose of the detergent on the

dry surface, and allow it to react (make sure

the detergent does not dry up).

2 Wash off the loosened dirt using the high-

pressure jet.

To ensure a trouble-free operation of the appli-

ance and to match the individual cleaning task,

we recommend our Kärcher detergent and main-

tenance agents. Please ask for our advice, or re-

quest information on the products.

Î Release the lever on the handgun.

Î During breaks, use the safety catch to secure

the handgun lever.

Î During longer breaks (more than 5 minutes),

also turn the appliance off using the ON/OFF

switch.

Î If detergent has been added: Suspend deter-

gent suction hose in a container filled with

clear water, switch the appliance on for

around 1 minute once the spray lance has
