This document sets out the terms and conditions of the product
warranties for Electr olux Appliances. It is an important document.
Please keep it with your proof of purchase documents in a safe place
for future reference should you requir e service for your Appliance.
1. In this warranty
(a) ‘acceptable quality’ as r eferred to inclause 10 of this warrantyhas
the same meaning r eferred toin the ACL;
(b) ‘ACL ’ means T rade Practices Amendment (AustralianConsumer
Law) Act (No.2) 2010;
(c) ‘Appliance’ means any Electr olux product pur chased by you
accompanied by this document;
(d) ‘ASC’means Electr olux’ authorised serviced centr es;
(e) ‘Electrolux’ means Electr olux Home Pr oducts Pty Ltd of 163
O’Riordan Str eet, Mascot, NSW 2020,ABN 51 004 762341 in
respect ofAppliances purchased inAustralia and Electrolux(NZ)
Limited of 3-5 NiallBurgess Road, Mount W ellington, in r espect
of Appliances pur chased in New Zealand;
(f) ‘majorfailure’as referr ed to in clause 10of this warranty hasthe
same meaning r eferred to inthe ACL and includes asituation when
an Appliance cannot berepairedor it is uneconomicfor Electrolux,
at its discr etion, to repairan Appliance during theWarranty Period;
(g) ‘W arrantyPeriod’ means:
(i) where the Applianceis used for personal, domesticor household
use (i.e. normal singlefamily use) as setout in the instruction
manual, the Appliance iswarranted against manufacturing
defects in Australia for24 months and inNew Zealand for the
period of 24 months,following
the date of originalpurchase
of the Appliance and afurther 36 months; in Australia if ther e is
evidence providedto Electrolux thatthe appliance was installed
bya licensedroom air conditionerinstaller; in New Zealandif
there isevidence that the Appliance wasinstalled accordingto
the Electroluxinstallation guidelines which can beinspected on
the Kelvinator website;
(ii) where the Appliance isused for commer cial purposes (including
being used to dir ectly assistabusiness or wher e the Appliance is
used inamulti-family communal or shar e type envir onment), the
Appliance will then bewarranted against manufacturing defects
in Australia for3 months and in New Zealand for0months,
following the date oforiginal purchase ofthe Appliance.
(h) ‘you’ means thepurchaser of theAppliance not having pur chased
the Appliance for r e-sale, and ‘your’ has acorr esponding meaning.
2. This warranty only applies toAppliances purchased andused in Australia
or New Zealand andis in addition to(and does not exclude, r estrict, or
modify in any way)any non-excludable statutory warrantiesin Australia
or New Zealand.
3. During the W arranty Period Electr olux or its ASC will,at no extra charge
if your Appliance isreadily accessible for
service, without special
equipment and subject tothese terms and conditions,repair or r eplace
any parts which itconsiders to be defective.Electrolux or itsASC may
use remanufactur ed parts to r epair your Appliance.Yo u agree that
any replacedAppliances or parts become theproperty ofElectrolux.
This warranty does notapply to light globes,batteries, lters or similar
perishable parts.
4. Parts and Appliances not suppliedby Electroluxare not coveredby
this warranty .
5. Yo uwill bear the cost of transportation, travel and delivery ofthe
Appliance to and fr om Electroluxor its ASC. Ifyou reside outsideof the
service area,you will bear the costof:
(a) travel of an authorisedrepresentative;
(b) transportationand delivery ofthe Appliance to and fr om Electroluxor
its ASC,
In all instances, unlessthe Appliance is transportedby Electrolux oran
Electrolux authorisedrepresentative,the Appliance is transported atthe
owner’ s cost and risk whilein transit to and fr om Electroluxor its ASC.
6. Proof of pur chase is r equired beforeyou can makea claim under
this warranty .
7. Yo umay not make aclaim under this warranty unlessthe defect claimed
is due to faultyor defective parts orworkmanship.
Electrolux isnot liable
in the following situations(whichare notexhaustive):
(a) the Appliance is damagedby:
(i) accident
(ii) misuse or abuse, includingfailure to pr operly maintain or service
(iii) normal wearand tear
(iv) power surges, electrical storm damage orincorrect powersupply
(v) incomplete or impr oper installation
(vi) incorrect, improperor inappropriate operation
(vii) insect or vermin infestation
(viii)failure to comply with anyadditional instructions supplied with the
Appliance;
(b) theAppliance ismodied without authority fr om Electrolux inwriting;
(c) the Appliance’ s serial number or warranty sealhas been removed
or defaced;
(d) theAppliance was servicedor repair ed by anyone other than
Electrolux, anauthorised repair er or ASC.
8. This warranty ,the contract towhich it relatesand the relationship
between you and Electr oluxare gover ned bythe law applicable wher e
the Appliance was pur chased. Wherethe Appliance was pur chased in
New Zealand for businesspurposes the Consumer GuaranteeAct does
not apply .
9. To the extent permitted by law , Electr olux excludes all warranties and
liabilities (other than ascontained in this document)including liability for
any loss ordamage whether dir ect or indir ect arising fromyour purchase,
use or non useof the Appliance.
10.For Appliances and services pr ovided by Electr olux in Australia, the
Appliances come with a
guarantee by Electrolux that cannotbe excluded
under the AustralianConsumer Law .Yo u are entitled toa replacement or
refund for amajor failur e and forcompensation for any otherreasonably
foreseeable lossor damage.Yo u are also entitled tohave the Appliance
repair ed or replacedif the Appliancefails to be ofacceptable quality and
the failuredoes not amount to amajor failure. The benetsto you given
by this warrantyarein addition to your otherrights and remediesundera
law in r elation to the Appliancesor services towhich the warranty r elates.
11.At all times during the W arranty Period,Electrolux shall, atits discretion,
determine whether r epair ,replacement orrefund will applyif an
Appliance hasavalid warranty claim applicableto it.
12.For Appliances and services providedby Electrolux inNew Zealand,
the Appliances come with aguarantee by Electrolux pursuant tothe
provisions ofthe Consumer Guarantees Act, theSale of Goods Actand
the Fair T rading Act.
13. T oenquireabout claiming under thiswarranty ,please follow these steps:
(a) carefully check the operatinginstructions, user manual andthe terms
of this warranty;
(b) havethe modeland serial number ofthe
Appliance available;
(c) have the pr oof of purchase(eg an invoice) available;
(d) telephonethe numbersshown below .
14.Yo uaccept that if youmakea warranty claim,Electrolux and itsASC
may exchange information inrelation to youto enable Electr olux to meet
its obligations under thiswarranty .
