To enable you to obtatn optimum enjoyment from the recerver’s listening

modes, make sure to complete the speaker settings (subwoofer, front,

center, and surround speakers) as described below.

a Turn on the power to t/us receiver by pressmg

POWER (I /c!I) key.

a Select a speaker system.

8 Press the SET UP key such that the subwoofer setting

mdication “SUBW ON” appears.

0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or keys to select the appro-

pnate subwoofer setting.

SUBW

ON: Subwoofer setting mode to the recetver IS ON.

@ SUBW OFF:

Subwoofer setting mode to the recerver IS OFF

The Initial setting IS “SUBW ON”

When the setting “SUBW OFF” IS selected, the front speakers are

automatically set to “FRNT LRG” and the procedure skrps to step 0.

When subwoofer output sound IS requrred, select “FRNT NML”

0 Press the SET UP key to accept the setting.

The front speakers setting Indication “FRNT” appears

Q Usethe MULTI CONTROL knob or keys to select the approprr-

ate front speakers setting.

FRNT NML

(normal): Average stze front speakers are

connected to the receiver.

$l FRNT LRG

(large): Large front speakers are con-

nected to the recetver.

For “FRNT LRG” selection, no sound will be heard from SUBW

even when it IS set to ON. However, if you select CINEMA EQ when

subwoofer IS selected, you will be able to hear sound from the

subwoofer.

When In STEREO mode, the sound goes directly to front speaker.

0 Press the SET UP key to accept the setting.

*The center speaker setting Indication “CNTR” appears

0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or keys to select the approprrate i

center speaker setting.

If you selected “LRG” as the front speakers setting,

0 CNTR LRG

(large): A large center speaker IS connected to

the receiver.

CNTR NML

(normal):

An averagesrze center speaker IS con-

nected to the recerver.

@ CNTR OFF*

Center speaker setting mode to the

recetver IS OFF

If you have selected “NML” as the front speakers setting,

(3 CNTR ON:

Center speaker setting mode to the receiver IS

ON.

CNTR OFF.

Center speaker setting mode to the receiver IS

OFF

0 Press the SET UP key agam to accept the setting.

*The surround speaker setting Indication “SURR” appears

0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or keys to select theapproprrate

surround speaker setting.

If you selected “LRG” as the center speaker setting,

@ SURR LRG

(large): Large surround speakers are con-

nected to the receiver.

SURR NML

(normal): Average size surround speakers are

connected to the receiver.

@ SURR OFF.

Surround speaker setting mode to the

recerver IS OFF

If you have selected other than “LRG” as the center speaker

setting,

0 SURR ON:

Surround speaker setting mode to the recerver

IS ON.

SURR OFF-

Surround speaker setting rnode to the receiver

IS OFF

0 Press the SET UP key again to accept the setting.

The receiver enters the speaker volume level adjustment mode.

In steps

and a, rndications appear only for the selected channels

of the speakers that requtre adjusting.

a Adjust lhe speaker volume /eve/.

From your usual listentng position, adjust the volume levels. The

volume levels from each speaker should be the same.

0 Use the MULTI CONTROL knob or keys to adjust the volume

level of the test tone output from the speaker channel to be

adjusted.

The channel Indication blinks while the test tone IS betng output.

The test tone

heard from the speakers m the following

sequence for 2 seconds each:

~L+C+R+SR+SL+SW~

If you change thevolume level settings for the speakers while lisientng

to mustc, the settings referred to on thts page are also changed.

If the speaker setting selects are OFF, the speaker level settings are

reset,

Q Press the SET UP key.

The test tone IS turned off. The recerver enters the mode for Inputting

the distance to the speakers.
