8.3 Attention points
▪ Don’t point this instrument to the sun or other intense light sources, as it will cause your
measurements erroneous or inaccurate.
▪ Don’t use the instrument in damp, dusty and other harsh environments. Long time
exposure to adverse environments will damage internal components of this laser
rangefinder or result in inaccurate measurements.
▪ When this instrument is brought from one environment to another environment whose
ambient temperature defers greatly from the previous one, it can be only when it has
roughly the same temperature with the ambient one.
▪ This instrument may have errors when measuring some light colored liquids, transparent
glass panes, polystyrene foams or low-density objects.
▪ The highly reflective surface of any object to be measured will skew the laser beam and
then result in an erroneous measurement.
▪ A highly luminous environment, in combination with a measurement surface of low
reflection effect will shorten the measuring range and reduce the measurement accuracy.
8.4 Inserting/Replacing the batteries
Alkali-manganese batteries are recommended for the measuring tool. To open the battery lid
4, press on the latch and fold the battery lid up. Insert the batteries. When inserting, pay
attention to the correct polarity according to the representation on the inside of the battery
compartment.
8.5 Initial operation
▪ Protect the measuring tool against moisture and direct sun light.
▪ Do not subject the measuring tool to extreme temperatures or variations in temperature.
As an example, do not leave it in vehicles for longer periods. In case of large variations in
temperature, allow the measuring tool to adjust to the ambient temperature before putting
it into operation. In case of extreme temperatures or variations in temperature, the
accuracy of the measuring tool can be impaired.
▪ Avoid heavy impact to or falling down of the measuring tool. Damage to the measuring
tool can impair its accuracy. After heavy impact or shock, compare the laser lines with a
known horizontal or vertical reference line.
8.6 Switching on and off
▪ Press the on button (1) to turn on the device. The tool will default to the single-distance
measuring mode.
▪ Press about 3 seconds on the off button (3) to turn off the device.
▪ When the measuring tool is inactive for 5 minutes, it will automatically turn off to save
battery power.
8.7 Measuring procedure
▪ Hold the tool at the point from which you want to measure. Press button 1 to turn on the
laser.
