Use:
The triangular grinder can be used universally to grind
wood, lacquer, metals and plastics.
The triangular form of the grinding disc also allows
grinding in hard-to-reach places and corners.
Double insulation.
Our equipment is designed in accordance with European
regulations (EN standards) for the utmost safety of the
user. Machines with double insulation always carry the
international symbol. The machines do not require
earthing. A two-core cable is sufficient.
The machines are interference-suppressed in accordance
with EN 55014.
Initial operation.
Before the first operation check that the mains voltage
corresponds to that given on the machine nameplate.
Safety instructions and prevention of accidents.
Before operating the machine, please read through the
operating instructions completely, follow the Safety
Instructions in this manual as well as the general Safety
Instructions for Power Tools in the accompanying
booklet.
1. Always remove the plug from the socket before
manipulating the machine.
2. Replace any damaged connecting leads.
3. Protective eyewear (safety glasses) is to be worn at
all times when working with the triangular grinder!
4. Do not operate the machine with loose hair and
loose clothing!
5. Keep the machine dry when working outdoors.
6. Keep the unit out of reach of children!
7. It is essential to wear a mask when grinding for a
prolonged period without a dust extraction unit.
8. The use of ear protection is recommended during
longer grinding sessions.
9. The unit must only be used for dry grinding!
10. The machine must not be used to grind material
that contains asbestos.
11. The dust produced when processing rock con-
taining crystalline silicic acid is potentially harmful.
12. Safety regulation VBG 119 of the employer's
liability insurance association is to be observed.
13. Outside power sockets must be protected with
residual-current-operated circuit-breakers (r.c.c.b.).
14. Do not drill holes into the housing to label the
machine. The protective insulation will be bridged.
Please use self-adhesive labels.
Switch with fixing key for continuous operation.
The machine is activated by pushing the switchgroup (8)
in the direction of the arrow. The pushbutton (9) will
automatically latch into final position. If the protruding
edge of the pushbutton (9) is pressed, the pushbutton is
triggered and the switchgroup (8) is automatically re-
turned to its initial position. The machine subsequently
comes to a stop.
Selecting the grinding disc.
The triangular grinder is equipped with a grinding disc
with a large width across the corners, for which various
self-adhesive abrasive papers with different grain sizes
are available. The quick-release lock allows you to
replace the grinding disc without additional tools and
rotate the disc in 120° intervals. A flap attachment
(optional) and a respective range of grinding paper sizes
are available for grinding slatted doors and shutters.
Assembling and disassembling the grinding plate.
Caution! Remove plug from electrical socket!
Place grinding disc (4) on the unit so that the visible
markings on the surface of the grinding disc correspond
to the peripheral contours of the fixture. Press the
grinding disc into the fixture and turn in the direction of
the arrow until the lock snaps into place.
To remove the grinding disc, press in the lock (3) and
turn the grinding disc (4) in the opposite direction. This
procedure also applies to the assembly and disassembly
of the flap attachment (10).
If the Velcro lining on the original grinding disc
becomes worn or damaged during use, you may turn
the grinding plate 120° twice to obtain proper
adhesion for the Velcro paper.
The Velcro lining on the grinding disc is a wearing part
and is thus excluded from the conditions of the guarantee.
Assembling the grinding tools.
Use only original KRESS grinding tools with self-
adhesive Velcro!
Caution! Remove plug from electrical socket!
For heavy dirt accumulation clean grinding disc!
The grinding tools are simply pressed onto the grinding
disc or flap attachment. The bore holes of the abrasive
paper and the grinding disc will automatically coincide
when fitted properly. This facilitates the trouble-free
extraction of sanding dust when using a vacuum cleaner.
