7.4 LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client Functions
In this chapter you will find a detailed description
of all the LANCOM Advanced VoIP Client functions and
the configuration of the buttons and lists.
7.4.1 Numeric Keypad
The numeric keypad is used to enter a telephone number. It doesn’t matter
whether or not the interface you use has a numeric keypad, you can, of
course, always use the numeric keypad on your keyboard.
The asterisk and hash buttons are used for transmitting DTMF sound signals,
so that you can check your answering machine at home, for example.
As long as the handset is on the hook, you can still edit your entry by moving
the cursor with the arrow buttons and inserting new numbers - in the Insert
mode (the “Insert” button on your keyboard) - or by overwriting the existing
numbers. You can remove individual numbers using the backspace button or
the “Delete” button.
7.4.2 Backspace
The Backspace can be used to make corrections while you are
entering numbers. It is the equivalent of the Backspace on a
computer keyboard. It is only possible to make corrections as long
as the handset has not been lifted because, as soon as the
handset is lifted, the numbers entered will immediately be dialed.
The Backspace deletes the character to the left of the cursor.
7.4.3 Handset
The handset button shows the telephone handset of a
classical telephone. This button is used to initiate, pick
up, and end telephone calls. One click on the handset
button is the same as going on or off the hook.

If you click with the right mouse button on the handset button, the shortcut
menu will appear. The shortcut menu depends on the state of the
connection.
