General safety instructions
Foreword
Please read this assembly and operating manual carefully before starting
to use the LANDMANN re pit. You will quickly realise how easy and simple
the assembly and operation are.
General information for successful assembly
Please read the assembly instructions carefully and follow the safety
precautions. Allow sucient time for assembly. Before starting assembly,
clear an area measuring approximately two to three square metres.
Remove the set from the packaging! Lay out all parts and any necessary
tools so that they are within easy reach.
Please note: Only tighten all of the screw connections rmly once you have
nished assembly. Otherwise unwanted tension may occur.
Information for safe operation of the re pit
The re pit must be positioned on a stable and secure surface when it is
in use.
Do not use indoors or under roofs. Only use safe lighting materials
(such as LANDMANN solid relighters).
Igniting the fuel
WARNING - risk of burning!
Using petrol or spirits for ignition can result in uncontrollable heat
due to deagration. You should therefore only use safe fuel, such
as solid relighters. The re pit must be positioned on a stable and
secure surface when it is in use.
1. Use quality products from LANDMANN, such as LANDMANN solid
relighters.
2. Stack a portion of the wood in the re bowl.
3. Place one or two solid relighters on the existing layer of wood.
Ignite them using a long match.
4. Allow the solid relighters to burn for 2 to 4 minutes. Then add more
wood.
Cleaning / care
WARNING - risk of burning!
Allow the re pit to cool down completely before cleaning it. Never
use water to quench the hot re pit. This could result in burns or
scalding.
Occasional cleaning is necessary in order to preserve an attractive
appearance. Do not use any scouring agents.
1. A rinsing cloth, water and some washing-up liquid is sucient for
normal cleaning processes.
2. If the enamelled parts are heavily soiled, use a commercial enamel
cleaning agent (oven cleaner). Observe the manufacturer's
instructions for the cleaning agent being applied.
Environmental information & disposal measures
Pay attention to cleanliness when using the re pit and dispose of waste
in a clean and safe manner. As a general rule, only dispose of waste in
designated metal or non-ammable containers.
Observe the local waste disposal regulations.
Warranty
We provide a warranty for the re pit for a period of two years from the
date of purchase. The warranty covers defective workmanship and parts; it
is restricted to the replacement of these parts. Costs for postage, assembly,
replacement of worn parts (re bowl, grill) and other costs are not covered
by this warranty. Improper use and unauthorised modication of any kind
to the barbecue will void your warranty.

• Make sure that the re pit is on a level and reproof surface not made from glass or plastic.
• ATTENTION! This re pit becomes very hot and should not be moved during operation!
• CAUTION! Never use spirits or petrol for lighting or relighting!
• CAUTION! Only use relighters that comply with the European standard for relighters (EN 1860-3)!
• Never use water to extinguish the re.
• Allow the re pit to cool down completely before cleaning it.
CAUTION: Risk of carbon monoxide poisoning!
• Use the re pit outdoors only; do not use indoors!
DANGER to children and pets!
• Never leave the hot barbecue unattended.
• ATTENTION! Keep children and pets away!
