If the Lady is the only one to choose that boutique, she may keep as many cards

as she wishes and replace the non-chosen cards in the appropriate pile.

If a favourite boutique is not visited by any Lady (The Lady’s own boutique

included), a Discount is given to the team of the Lady who owns that

boutique. See ‘Discount’ in the following phase.

ATTENTION :

unlike with Wardrobe cards, each Lady

may only choose one Servant card during this phase,

no matter how many Ladies chose this boutique.

ATTENTION :

Wardrobe cards that feature two designers

mean that two designers have been selected instead of one.

The Lady may not choose one or other of those designers.

Example: Melanie and another Lady choose to visit the Emporium.

Melanie’s Gentleman has the Number token ‘1’ so she is the ﬁ rst to choose

a card from this boutique. Once she has chosen a card and placed it face-

down in front of her she passes the remaining cards to the other Lady.

When Melanie gets the cards back again from that Lady, she decides she

will not make any further purchases. She passes the cards again to the other

Lady who may choose more cards.

When all the Ladies have selected their future purchases move to phase 3: Evening.

Afternoon: Buying with the Gentlemen

The goal for each Gentleman is to make money by sales based on the Current

Market or by honouring visible contracts.

In turn order (as indicated by the Number tokens that were picked in the

Morning), each Gentleman may:

Sell their Resource tokens at the price indicated on the Current Market

card. He discards the Resource tokens that he wishes to sell and takes the

corresponding amount of money from the bank. The discarded Resource

tokens are replaced in the game box.

Fulﬁ ll one or more of the visible Contract cards. He discards (back into

the box) the Resource tokens stipulated on the contract and takes the

corresponding amount of money from the bank

If that Gentleman is the ﬁ rst to fulﬁ ll that contract, he may also choose to

receive:

NOTE :

when fulﬁ lling a contract, the Gold Ingot

Resource token may be used instead of any resource.

Notes :

- More than one Gentleman may fulﬁ ll the same contract during a turn. Only

the ﬁ rst to honour the contract receives the bonus or premium.

- You can fulﬁ ll more than one Contract in the same turn, and sell multiple

resources at the same time as long as you have enough Resource tokens.

- The same Gentleman may not fulﬁ ll the same contract card more than once.

- A Gentleman may do nothing during this phase.

- Resource tokens not used may be kept for future turns.

Remember : the exact amount of money a Gentleman possesses is something

that must be kept secret between him and his Lady. To prevent others knowing,

banknotes should be turned face down.
