9.3 Technical faults

Your appliance is designed and manufactured for reliable

operation and a long service life. If a malfunction nonethe‐

less occurs during operation, please check whether the

malfunction is due to an operating error. In this case, you

will have to be charged for the costs incurred, even during

the warranty period.

You may be able to rectify the following faults yourself.

9.3.1 Appliance function

Defect Cause Remedy

The appliance does

not work.

→ The appliance is not switched on. uSwitch on the appliance.

→The power plug is not properly

inserted in the wall socket.

uCheck the power plug.

→The powerfuse in the wall socket is

not OK.

uCheck the fuse.

→ Power failure. uKeep the appliance closed.

uProtect your food: Lay freezer packs on top of the food or

use another freezer if the power is off for a prolonged

period.

uDo not re-freeze defrosted food.

→The appliance connector is not

correctly inserted in the appliance.

uCheck the appliance connector.

The temperature is

not cold enough

→This means that the door of the

appliance is not closed properly

uClose the appliance door

→ Insufficient ventilation uClear and clean the ventilation grille.

→The ambient temperature is too

high

uSolution: (see 1.3 Range of appliance use) .

→The appliance was opened too

frequently or for too long

uWait to see whether the required temperature resets

itself by itself. If not, contact Customer Service

(see 9.4 Customer service) .

→Too much fresh food was placed

inside without SuperFrost.

uSolution: (see SuperFrost)

→ The temperature is incorrectly set uSet to a colder temperature and check after 24 hours.

→The appliance is too near to a heat

source (stove, heater etc).

uChange location of appliance or the heat source.

The door seal is

defective or should

be replaced for

other reasons.

→The door seal is interchangeable.

You can replace it without the use

of any special tools.

uContact Customer Service (see 9.4 Customer service) .

The appliance is

iced up or conden‐

sation is building.

→The door seal may have slipped out

of its groove.

uCheck the door seal is well placed in the groove.

The outside

surfaces of the

appliance are hot*.

→ The heat of the refrigerant circuit is

used to prevent condensate from

forming

uThis is normal.
