8.2 Defrosting the appliance

WARNING

Appliance incorrectly defrosted!

Injuries and damage.

uDo not use mechanical devices or other means to accel-

erate the defrosting process, other than those recom-

mended by the manufacturer.

uDo not use any electrical heating or steam cleaning equip-

ment, naked flames or defrosting sprays.

uDo not remove ice with sharp objects.

Defrosting is performed automatically. The water from the

thawing process runs out via the drain opening and is evapo-

rated.

Water droplets or a thin layer of frost or ice can form on the rear

wall; this is a completely normal part of the appliance’s func-

tion. You do not have to remove them.*

A frost or ice layer may form briefly due to the energy-optimized

control of the appliance.

uClean the drain opening regularly (see 8.3 Cleaning the

appliance) .

8.3 Cleaning the appliance

8.3.1 Preparation

WARNING

Danger of electric shock.

uUnplug refrigerator or disconnect power.

WARNING

Danger of fire

uDo not damage the refrigerant circuit.

uEmpty appliance.

8.3.2 Cleaning the housing

NOTICE

Improper cleaning!

Damage to the appliance.

uOnly use soft cleaning cloths and ph-neutral all-purpose

cleaners.

WARNING

Risk of injury or damage due to hot steam.

Hot steam can cause scalding/burns and damage to surfaces.

uDo not use steam cleaners.

uWipe the housing down with soft, clean cloth. If very dirty,

use lukewarm water with a neutral cleaner. Glass surfaces

can also be cleaned with glass cleaner.

8.3.3 Cleaning the interior

NOTICE

Improper cleaning!

Damage to the appliance.

uOnly use soft cleaning cloths and ph-neutral all-purpose

cleaners.

uPlastic surfaces: clean by hand with a soft clean cloth, luke-

warm water and a little detergent.

uMetal surfaces: clean by hand with a soft clean cloth, luke-

warm water and a little detergent.

8.3.4 Cleaning the equipment

NOTICE

Improper cleaning!

Damage to the appliance.

uOnly use soft cleaning cloths and ph-neutral all-purpose

cleaners.

Clean with a soft, clean cloth, lukewarm water and a little

washing up liquid:

- Door racks

- Shelf

- Split shelf*

- VarioSafe*

- Bottle basket and pull-out board*

- EasyFresh-Safe

- Drawer

Clean in the dishwasher up to 60 °C:

- Bottle rack

- Holder for the split shelf*

uDisassemble the equipment: see the relevant section.

uClean the equipment.

8.3.5 After cleaning

uWipe dry the appliance and items of equipment

uConnect and switch on the appliance.

When the temperature is sufficiently cold

uPlace the food inside.

uRepeat cleaning regularly.
