Alcohol-free recipes for hot coffee
Mexican coffee
Serves 4
• 500 ml strong coffee
• 100 ml single cream
• 2 tbsp melted chocolate
• 2 tbsp sugar
• nutmeg, cinnamon
Whip the cream with the melted chocolate, sugar, pinch of ground cinnamon and pinch of nut-
meg.
Add the hot coffee and stir. Pour into 4 cups – you can add a spoonful of whipped cream to each.
Chocolate coffee
Serves 2
• 250 ml coffee
• 250 ml milk
• 50 g plain chocolate
• 1 tsp sugar
• Few drops vanilla essence
Mix the milk and vanilla-scented sugar and warm over a low heat.
Melt the plain chocolate in the hot milk and whisk until the mixture becomes frothy. Add the
hot coffee and mix. Serve immediately.
Mulled coffee
Serves 4
• 500 ml strong coffee
• 500 ml apple juice
• 2 tbsp Demerara sugar
• 3 finely-sliced oranges
• 2 cinnamon sticks
• 1 pinch mixed spice
• 1 clove
Bring all the ingredients to boil over a moderate heat, then lower
the temperature and leave to simmer for 10 min. Strain the liquid
through a conical sieve and serve immediately in some glasses,
previously rinsed in some hot water.
