3. General safety advice
6 Manual for installation and operation, Comfort 211 accu, solar GB (#76810)
Advice for handling the accumulator unit
• Only charge the accumulator unit in well-ventilated rooms, otherwise risk of explosion.
• Never short-circuit the accumulator unit.
If the accumulator unit is operated with low accumulator voltage despite a warning signal from the operator system,
total discharge will cause a defect.
In order to avoid total discharge of the accumulator unit, it has to be charged as follows:
- when only used once in a while: at least all 2 months,
- if not used latest all 6 months.
In case the system is operated alternately with two accumulators, make sure that, before you plug in the accumulator
plug into the new accumulator unit, a safety period of approx. 30 sec. is kept.
The lead accumulators contained in the accumulator units are taken back by the shops and recycled.
Advice for handling the charger
When operating chargers the following risks may occur:
- Risk of explosion
(explosive gases will form during charging the lead accumulator),
- Risk of fire and short-circuit
(electric shock caused by humidity).
In order to avoid hazards:
• make sure that the room is well-ventilated.
• Avoid fire and open light.
• Only use the charger in dry buildings.
• Protect the unit against humidity.
• Protect the unit against oils and sharp edges.
• Check the unit regularly on damages.
