Q: How do I tune my metal detector?
A: Place the unit on top of a table/ flat surface, which doesn’t contain metal.
Remove any jewelry you may be wearing.
1. Install the batteries- 6 AA (not included).
2. Power on
3. Set the VOLUME to the 9 o’clock position. The power knob is also the volume
knob.
4. Press the red button.
5. Set the DISCRIMINATION to mid-way point
6. Set TUNE to mid-way position.
7. The needle should point to the zero.
8. You have now tuned your Metal Detector and are ready to test it.
To test the detector, gather an item that contains iron, such as a nail. Also, gather an item
that does not contain iron such as a gold ring or a silver bracelet. Now, slowly sweep the
iron (ferrous) object over the search coil. You will hear the buzzing noise and see the
needle shift to the right (ferrous). Next, sweep a non-ferrous object over the search coil.
Watch as the needle shifts to the left of the meter (non-ferrous)
You have successfully tuned and tested your unit and are now ready to use.
Q: What is the maximum depth of the metal detector?
A: 8-10 in.
