INTRODUCTION
To get the best out of your new appliance, please
read this user guide carefully before using it for the
first time. We also recommend that you keep the
instructions for future reference, so that you can
remind yourself of the functions of your appliance.
SAFETY MEASURES
Normal use of the appliance
• Incorrect use of this appliance may cause
personal injury and damage.
• Use for its intended purpose only. The manu-
facturer is not responsible for any injury or da-
mage resulting from incorrect use or handling
(see also Guarantee Terms).
• For domestic use only. Not for outdoor or
commercial use. Not for hospital or commercial
use.
• For connection to 230 V, 50 Hz only.
• Check appliance is intact when unpacking first
time. There should be no visible damage.
• Do not use in elevation beds or other beds
which are position-adjustable, as the cord can
become trapped and cause personal injury.
• Do not use with wet hands.
• Do not use if you have a pacemaker or other
implanted, battery-driven medical equipment.
• Do not fall asleep with the appliance in use.
Extended use at high temperatures can cause
burns.
• Do not use for babies, animals or others who
cannot tell you the temperature is too high.
• Keep the appliance under constant supervision
while in use. Keep an eye on children.
Cord, plug and mains socket
• Check regularly that neither cord nor plug is
damaged and do not use if they are, or if the
appliance has been dropped in water or dama
-
ged in any other way.
• If the appliance or plug is damaged, it must
be inspected and if necessary, repaired by an
authorised repair engineer, otherwise there is
a risk of electric shock. Never try to repair the
appliance yourself.
• Extend cord fully when appliance is in use.
• Keep cord away from hot objects and open
flame.
• Check that it is not possible to pull or trip over
the cord or any extension cord.
• Always turn the appliance off using the ON/
OFF button, and unplug it when it is not in use
or for cleaning.
• Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug
from the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
• Do not use adapters, multiple sockets and/or
extension cords. If the plug of the appliance is
incompatible with the mains socket, you should
consult a qualified electrician.
• Certain fundamental guidelines must be
respected when using any sort of electrical ap-
pliance. Specifically:
- Never touch the appliance with hands or feet
that are wet or damp.
- Never pull on the power cord, or the appli-
ance itself, to remove the plug from the socket.
