Expectation
This phototherapy unit is intended for light therapy
to treat the seasonal affective disorder (S.A.D.) It is a
convenient and effective way of compensating for the
lack of light without resorting to medication in autumn
and winter.

Cord and plug
• Keepthecordandapplianceawayfromheat
sources,hotobjectsandnakedames.
• Checkthatitisnotpossibletopullortripoverthe
cord or any extension cord.
• Switchofftheappliance,removetheplugfromthe
socket when the appliance is not in use and before
cleaningorreplacementoftheuorescenttubes.
Avoid pulling the cord when removing the plug from
the socket. Instead, hold the plug.
• Handleuorescenttubescarefullyastheymay
splinter and cause injuries to your hands.
• Ensurethatthecordisfullyextended.
• Thecordmustnotbetwistedorwoundaroundthe
appliance.
• Checkregularlyfordamagetoappliance,cordand
plug. Do not use if any parts are damaged or if the
appliance has been dropped or damaged in any
way whatsoever.
• Iftheappliance,cordorplughavebeendamaged,
have them inspected and if necessary repaired by
an authorised repair engineer. Never try to repair
the appliance yourself. Please contact the store
where you bought the appliance for repairs under
guarantee.Unauthorisedrepairsormodicationsto
the appliance will invalidate the guarantee.
Using the phototherapy unit
• Donotuseinroomswithoutsomeotherlight
source. For use as a light supplement only, not
illumination.
• Donotlookdirectlyattheapplianceforlong
periods. Follow the user guide below.
• Initialusemaycausetiredeyesand/orheadache.
This is normal, and such effects will soon disappear.
If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
• Consultyourdoctorbeforeusingthisapplianceif
you
o suffer or have suffered from severe depression
o are hypersensitive to light
o suffer from any type of eye disease
o use particular forms of medicine such as
psychopharmacia or malaria pills
o suffer from high blood pressure.

results in hyperactivity, exhaustion, depression,
restlessness,difcultiesinsleepingand/orother
adverse effects.
