o Bagels and similar must be cut in halves before
placed in the toaster. Place the two halves
in the two toaster slots with the outside of the
bread facing the sides of the toaster. This allows
the bagels to toast on the inside and heat on the
outside.
5. Turn the setting dial (3) to the required toasting time.
1 is the shortest time and 6 is the longest.
6. Push the lever (2) down to lower the bread into the
appliance.Theredindicatorlightinthe“CANCEL”
button (4) is lit and toasting commences.
7. The"CANCEL"buttonisthestopbutton.Pressthis
button if you want to interrupt toasting before time.
8. The appliance switches off automatically when the
breadhasnishedtoastingandthebreadpopsup.
IMPORTANT!
• Ifthebreadgetsstuckinthetoasterslots,raise
and lower the lever a couple of times to loosen the
bread. If the bread remains stuck, unplug the toaster
and leave it to cool down. Then turn the toaster
upside down and shake it carefully to remove the
bread.Neveruseametalobjecttoloosenthebread.
• Donotusethetoastertotoastorheatbreadwith
runnyllings,sugaroricingsinceitmaygetstuckin
the toaster and burn.
• Donotusethetoasterfortoastingricecakesas

of bread must not be heated in the appliance, as
thiscouldpromoterehazard.
• Theapplianceshouldberegularlyemptiedof
crumbs,asthesecouldcauseare.
• Remembertoturntheapplianceoffatthesocket
andremovetheplugwhenyouarenishedusingit.
Caution!Youmayexperienceasmallamountofsmoke
orodourtherstfewtimestheapplianceisused.
This is due to excess material from the manufacturing
process being burnt off. This is completely normal, and
the smoke/smell will soon disappear.
Toasting tips
The appliance can be used to toast many different
types of bread. It is not possible to recommend a
browning level for all types of bread, as it very much
depends on the composition of the bread and personal
taste. Proceed by trial and error. Thick slices of bread,
buns and coarse bread need to be toasted longer than
thin slices of bread and light bread.
CLEANING
When cleaning the appliance, you should pay attention
to the following points:
• Removeplugfromthemainssocket,andallowthe
appliance to cool down before cleaning it.
• Neversubmergetheapplianceinwater,andno
water must be allowed to get into it.
• Cleantheappliancebywipingitwithadampcloth.
Alittledetergentcanbeaddediftheapplianceis
heavily soiled.
• Donotusescouringpads,steelwooloranyformof
strong solvents or abrasive cleaning agents to clean
the appliance, as they may damage the outside
surfaces of the appliance.
• Emptytheapplianceofcrumbsregularly.Turnthe
appliance upside down and shake it carefully until
all breadcrumbs have been removed. Remove the
crumb tray (5), dust off any crumbs and, if required,
wash it up with ordinary detergent and water.
Remember to replace the crumb tray again.
• IMPORTANT!Allowtodryfullyaftercleaningbefore
using again. Do not use the appliance if damp.
