PREPARING THE APPLIANCE
Eachindividualapplianceischeckedatthefactorybut,for
safety’ssake,youshouldcheckcarefullyafterunpacking
that the appliance has not been damaged during transport.
• Checkwhetherthereisanyvisibledamage(e.g.inthe
form of dents or similar), if the door closes properly,
and if the hinges are in order.
• Iftheapplianceappearstohavebeendamaged,
contacttheshopwhereyouboughtit,anddonot
use it until it has been checked by an authorised
specialist.
• Beforeuse,checkthatyouhaveremovedall
transport packaging inside and out.
• Cleantheappliancebeforeusingit(seethesection
“Cleaning”below).
Theheatingelements(10)havebeenoiledduring
manufactureandcouldgiveoffsomesmokewhenrst
usingtheappliance.Thisisentirelyharmlessandwillstop
afterafewminutes.However,sothatthefooddoesnot
tasteofthissmoke,werecommendthatyoutakethe
followingactionbeforeusingtheappliancefortherst
time:
• Placetheoventrayandtherackinsidetheappliance.
• Selectupperandlowerheating,setthetemperature
to230ºCandsetthecookingtimeto15minutes(See
“OperatingtheAppliance”below).Theappliancewill
start automatically.
• Theapplianceswitchesoffautomaticallyafterten
minutes.
Thesmokewillnowhavecompletelydisappearedandyou
can use the appliance to cook food.
Tip:Whenpreparingfoodthatislikelytodripfatduring
cooking,forexamplewhenroastingachicken,itisagood
idea to place a sheet of foil in the base of the oven tray as
wellascoveringthechickenwithfoiltopreventfatfrom
spraying on the oven interior.

time.
