USING THE APPARATUS
The appliance is used for light therapies that counteract
winter fatigue, which can cause the following
symptoms:
• fatigue
• badmoodormoodiness
• lackofenergy
• increasedneedforsleep
• lackofconcentration
• lackofappetite
Over 60% of the population are believed to experience
one or more symptoms of winter blues due to the low
intensity of the winter sun.
The most effective time of day to take a light therapy is
between 6 am and 8 pm for a recommended period of
2 hours per day.
You can take light therapies as often as you like but the
treatment is most effective if you take light therapies
ofthebelow-mentioneddurationatleastvedaysin
a row.
Positioning the appliance
• Unfoldthestand(4)atthebackoftheappliance
and place the appliance on a table.
or
• Mounttheapplianceonthewallusingtheenclosed
wallbrackets.Checkbeforemountingthatthe
wall and the screws can carry the weight of the
appliance.
Use
• Inserttheplug(8)inthemainssocketandswitchon
the power.
• Switchontheon/offbutton(5).
• Sitdowninfrontoftheapplianceinapositionwhere
you can comfortably see the light and with your face
20-60 cm from the screen (2). You do not need to sit
directly in front of the screen.
• Thedurationofthelighttherapydependsonyour
distancefromthescreen:

60 cm Approx. 2 hours
40 cm Approx. 1 hour
20 cm Approx. ½ hour
• Thelighttherapycanbeinterruptedandyoucan
do other things at the same time (e.g. read or watch
television) as long as you sit within 60 cm from the
appliance.
• Donotlookdirectlyintothelightconstantly,but
look at it regularly.
• Alwaysturnofftheapplianceusingtheon/off
button, and unplug it, when it is not in use.
• Allowtheappliancetocoolforatleast15minutes
before putting it away or moving it.
TIP:Carrytheappliancebythecarryinghandleonthe
top of the rear part (3).
REPLACEMENT OF FLUORESCENT TUBES AND
STARTING SWITCH
Thelifetimeoftheuorescenttubesisapprox.8,000
hours of normal use. If a tube fails, it must be replaced.
• IMPORTANT!Discarduseduorescenttubesin
accordance with the rules for environmentally
harmful waste, e.g. by taking them to a waste
recovery site.
How to dismantle the appliance
• IMPORTANT!Alwaysmakesuretoswitchoffthe
appliance and remove the plug from the mains
socket before taking it apart to avoid the risk of
electric shocks.
• Placetheapplianceonanon-scratchingsurface,
screen down.
• Removethetopcover(1)byunfasteningitwithyour
ngers,rstinonesideandthenintheother.
• Removethetwoscrewsatthetopofthestand
using a Phillips screwdriver.
• Removethetwoscrewsintherearbase(7),and
carefully loosen the rear and front parts of the base
(6) from the rest of the appliance.
o IMPORTANT!Verycarefullydetachthetwobase
parts, since they are connected to the rest of the
appliance with cords that must not be damaged.
• Removethe9screwsalongthesideoftherearpart.
o The screws of the appliance may be of different
types. Therefore, pay attention to which screws
belong to the different screw holes in order to
place them correctly when reassembling the
appliance.
• Carefullyremovetherearpart,turnitupsidedown
and put it down in front of you.
• Replacethestartingswitch(ifapplicable):
o Turn the starting switch (b) anti-clockwise and
remove it.
o Insert a new starting switch of the same type
and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
• Replacetheuorescenttubes:
o Remove the
locking clip (d) by
pushing the ends
upwards until they
click into place and
remove the clip.
o Grip the socket
oftheuorescent
tube (a) and pull
the tube out of the socket (towards the top of
the appliance).
o Insertanewuorescenttubeinthesocketasfar
as it goes until it clicks into place.
o Press the locking clip onto the holder (c) until it
clicksintoplace.Checkthattheuorescenttube
isttedcorrectly.
o IMPORTANT!Replacetheuorescenttubeswith
tubes of the same type. Always replace both
tubes at the same time.
