Mode of operation
The pond sludge suction cleaner consists of a round container , into which the suction tube and suction hose
use vacuum to suck up the ma terial which is to be r emoved . A pump fitted in the container continuously
transports the sludge water via the outle t hose onto the ground or int o a drain. Extraction is there fore
generally possible without interruption.
The pond sludge suction cleaner must not be used as a vacuum cleaner for dry matter , only as a
water extract or . Suction without the use of a sponge filter (1.4), and incorrect handling result in the
nullification of the warranty claim.
In order to use the product correctly , please read the instructions below.
For technical data, please refer to the type plate and the table on page 1 .
Fitting the handle (see fig. 2 to 4)
Release the scr ews (21) on the clamps, and push the handle (20) t hrough the two clamps. Tighten the
screws (21), and fix the handle (20) using t he fixing screw (22).
Setting up and connecting the suction cleaner
It must be ensured that t he pond sludge suction cleaner is set up in such a wa y that it cannot fall into the
wat er , and that it cannot tip. Where ver possible , position the pond sludge suction cleaner on a lev el surface
at the height of the w ater surface, but no low er than the water le vel. T he lower the suction height , the better
the suction performance. (see fig. A + B)
Insert the suction hose (10) into the lower front opening (suction side) of the suction cle aner so that it
engages. (see fig. 5)
Now connect the outlet hose (11) into the side connection (ba yonet connection on the pre ssure side)
(see fig. 6), and position the hose end on the ground or in a drain.
Ensure that the suction he ad (1) sits correctly on the container (2).
Insert the plug (2.2) which comes from the side of the container (2) into the socket (1.1) on t he suction
head (1). (see fig. 7)
Now connect the suction cleaner to the mains . Insert the mains plug (1.3) into the connection socket.
If an ext ension cable drum is connected in between, this must be fully rolled out because of the heat which
would otherwise deve lop.
Ensure that the suction cle aner is protected b y means of an FI 30 mA residual current protection device
(RCD); if not, t hey are a vailable in any DIY stor e.
Use of the pool is forbidden while cleaning is taking place.
Operate t he suction cleaner only in dry weather .
Fit the handle (17) (using the ba yonet connector (18)), the suction tubes (12), and suction
attachments (13 to 16) to the suction hose (10) as r equired (see fig. 8).
Starting suction
Switch on the pond sludge suction cleaner using switc h (1.2), and hold the suction hose (10), suction
tube (12), and suction attachments (13, 14, 15, 16) under wat er; the sludge wa ter should now be extract ed
and continually pumped out.
Pa y attention to the end of the outlet hose . If no wat er is discharged after approx . 30 sec., then switch off the
device for about 1 min., and res tart the suction operation.
F rom time to time during the suction process, e xamine the end of the outlet hose , and confirm that the
sludge water whic h is being extract ed is also being pumped out.
When only smaller amounts of wa ter are being pumped out, r emov e the plug (2.2) for the pump (2.1) from
the socket (1.1) on t he suction head (1). In this wa y , you will pre vent the pump (2.1) from being dama ged by
dry running.
T o empty the container (2), reinsert the plug (2.2) for the pump (2.1).
Safety information! When pumping out a flooded cellar , ensure that the w ater which has been pumped out
cannot flow back in again.
Problems during pumping (see fig. 9 to 1 2)
Note! T o protect the pond sludge suction cleaner , a cut-off switch is installed; when triggered, t his stops the
suction power e ven though the turbine is running .
A fall-off in suction power can hav e the following causes:
– the filter bag (2.4) is full of dirt. Open the zip a t the side of the filter bag (2.4), and empty/clean the filter
bag (2.4).
– the pump (2.1) has no t been plugged in.
– the pump (2.1) is blocked at t he intake opening. Check t he filter bag (2.4) for damage . Disconnec t the
pond sludge suction cleaner from the mains, and clean t he container (2) and the pump (2.1).
– the outle t hose is blocked (11). Examine and cle an the hose end.
GB
– the deliv er y head is too grea t for the pump (2.1); the outlet hose (11) is pointing upwards.
– the suction hose (10) is block ed, e.g. b y a stone or weed.
– the suction height is too large . Place the pond sludge suction cleaner in a lower position, but nev er lower
than the wa ter lev el (this crea tes the risk of self -priming and therefor e of flooding, as well as le akage from
the pond sludge suction cleaner).
The pond sludge suction cleaner may be positioned no more than 80 cm higher t han the wat er leve l of the
pond. (see fig. B)
– the sponge filt er (1.4) below the suction head (1) is block ed with dirt. Remov e, and wash carefully .
Cleaning the suction cleaner (see fig. 9 to 1 2)
Disconnect the pond sludge suction cleaner from the mains. Pull out the plug (2.2) for t he pump (2.1) from
the socket on t he suction head (1), open the clips (2.5) on the container (2).
After this, lift the suction head (1) off the container (2), and wipe it with a dr y cloth. The suction head (1) and
the cable plug (1.3) must not become splashed or immersed in wat er . Now tip the dirt out of the container ,
and rinse this with wa ter .
Also clean the sponge filter (1.4) undernea th the suction head (1).
If necessary, clean the dirt pump (2.1) – submersible pump Clean&Eas y 1200
– Follow t he safety instructions ! Remove the mains plug from t he socket !
