Safety measures
- Cautio! UV -C radiation is dangerous to eyes and skin!
Do operate the UV-C unit only inside the casing.
T ranslucent connections allow you t o check easily and safely that the unit is working properly .
- It ma y only be used in garden ponds and in their protection area , if the installations ha ve been set up t o
comply with the code’s r equirements. Please contact an electrician.
- The UV-C unit has to be connected to a regular safety plug socket through a circuit breaker
(ground fault circuit interruptor , 30 mA).
- Before use: Check whether mains connection and electrical box ar e intact.
- The mains c onnection of the electrical box cannot be replaced . If the c onnection is damaged the device
has to be scrapped.
- If the mains c onnection between electrical box and UV -C unit is damaged it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or his customer service or similarly qualifi ed personnel in order to av oid dangers.
- Mains voltage and type of current have to correspond t o the data on the type plate of the electrical box .
- The connection bo x and the UV - C unit should be located in a w aterprotected are a. They should be a t
least 3,5 m awa y from the edge of the pond (see fi g. A + B)
- K eep the plug dry!
- Pull out mains plug before star ting to work on the UV -C unit, garden or fi sh pond. (Disconnect the
electrical box.)
- It is not allowed to run the UV-C unit when people are inside the water!
- Do never immerse the UV -C unit in water and make sur e that the unit ma y not be fl ooded.
- Do never hang up or transport the UV-C unit by the cables .
- Avoid e xposure to intense sunlight.
Start-up (see fi g. A - C)
Important! Make sure that water alway s passes through the UV-C unit during operation. Otherwise
the unit could be damaged.
- Y ou should only connect a pump with a max.
delivery head of 10 m (1 bar).
- The wat er temperatur e
Tmax.
should not e xceed 35° C .
- Fasten the U V-C unit by means of t he fi xing stands (15) in a fl ood-proof position.
- The quar tz glass tube (2) will be polluted by the pond wat er , thus reducing the UV - C per formance .
This needs cleaning of the quartz glass tube (2) at regular intervals according to the degree of pollution.
- The UV-C lamp (1) has a rated lif e of approx . 8000 hours. Af ter tha t it should be replaced, at least a t the
end of one season (from March till October).
- We recommend you to run t he unit 24 hours a day (continuous use). A void frequent switching (on/off).
This will reduce the lifet ime of the UV-C lamp.
- Connect the translucent connections of the UV -C unit to your fi ltration sy stem (hoses, pumps, fi lt ers…).
Y ou should use only fl at gask et rings for sealing your hose connectors, joining rings or se aling liquids may
damage the threaded connection.
- The c onnections may be turned against each o ther . For this purpose you should loosen and remo ve the
union nuts (11) of the red end caps (9) and slightly loosen the pressur e plates (6) as w ell (see fi g. C).
Cleaning and changing the lamp UV-C 8 - 55 W (see fi g. C)
