When working in areas where there is possibility of

head injuries, wear a helmet and when felling and

delimbing trees, wear an additional face mask.

Always remove the plug from the mains socket

before checking the chain tension, retightening the

chain, changing the chain, eliminating faults and

prior to every change of workplace.

Dust from material such as paint containing lead,

some wood species, minerals and metal may be

harmful. Contact with or inhalation of the dust may

cause allergic reactions and/or respiratory

diseases to the operator or bystanders.

Certain kinds of dust are classified as carcinogenic

such as oak and beech dust especially in conjunc-

tion with additives for wood conditioning (chro-

mate, wood preservative). Material containing

asbestos must only be treated by specialists.

- The work place must be well ventilated.

- The use of a dust mask of filter class P2 is

recommended.

• Unique safety thanks to the patented Metabo

wrap-spring chain brake. In case of a back-kick

or if the trigger is released, the chainsaw comes

to a standstill within 1/10 (!) of a second.

• Sawing chain with safety driving links to reduce

the risk of back-kicks

• Large hand-protection element. In case of a

back-kick, the hand protection is pushed

forward by the back of the operator's hand and

trips the quick brake of the chainsaw.

• Switch with lock to protect against unintentional

start of the chainsaw

7.1 Fitting cutter and sawing chain

See illustration, page 3 (please unfold).

Pull the mains plug out of the socket.

Wear protective gloves.

1. Unscrew the nuts (5) and take off the chain

cover (4).

2. Turn the clamping screw (13) anticlockwise as

far as the stop to bring the chain clamping pin

(17) into its left final position.

3. Note:

see illustration 1, page 3. When the chain

has been placed on the cutter, the cutting

edges of the sawing chain cutters (a) must

point in direction of rotation.

Note:

the direction of rotation of the sawing

chain is indicated by the two arrows on the

chain wheel cover (4).

See illustration 1, page 3. Hold the cutter with

its front end upward and mount the sawing

chain so that the teeth (b) of the deflector star

of the cutter engage in the chain links and the

chain driving links are seated in the cutter

groove.

4. Then place the sawing chain around the chain

wheel (19) and mount the cutter with its long

hole on both stud bolts (18) so that the chain

tensioning pin (17) engages in the bore (15) of

the cutter.

5. Refit the chain wheel cover (4) and fit the nuts

(5) but do not yet tighten.

6. Turn the clamping screw (13) clockwise until

the sawing chain no longer sags at the lower

edge of the cutter. Raise the front end of the

cutter while doing this.

7. The sawing chain is correctly tensioned if, in

the middle of the cutter, it can be lifted 3 to 4

mm from the cutter upper edge (see illustration

2, page 3).

Hallo, habe meine Kettensäge Metabo 1441 auseinandergenommen und gereinigt. Beim Zusammenbau habe ich die Schrauben (5) ohne die Abdeckung auf die Gewindebolzen fest aufgeschraubt bevor ich die vergessene Abdeckung bemerkte. Jetzt wollte ich die Schrauben lösen, ging aber nicht, zu fest.
wie kriege ich die schrauben wieder ab?
