Read these instructions before use.
Pay special attention to the safety
information.
If you notice transport damage while
unpacking, notify your supplier
immediately. Do not operate the
machine!
Dispose of the packing in an envi-
ronmentally friendly manner. Take
to a proper collecting point.
Keep these instructions for refer-
ence on any issues you may be
uncertain about.
If you lend or sell this machine be
sure to have the instructions to go
with it.
2.1 Specified Conditions of
Use
This machine provides four different
operating modes:
Surface planer mode
for surface planing of wood and
wood-derived materials.
Thickness planer mode
for thickness planing of wood and
wood-derived materials.
Circular saw mode
for sawing wood and woodderived
materials. Do not use the circular
saw for rebating, tenoning and
grooving (use spindle moulder
instead).
Spindle moulder mode
for moulding wood and wood-
derived materials.
Prior to operation the machine must be
set up for the respective operating
mode.
Set-in work is not permitted to be carried
out on the circular saw (high risk of
injury).
The permissible workpiece dimensions
must be observed (see "Technical Spec-
ifications").
Any other use is not as specified.
Unspecified use, modification of the
machine or use of parts not tested and
approved by the equipment manufac-
turer can cause unforeseen damage.
2.2 General Safety Informa-
tion
Danger!
This machine is a power tool
which can, due to operator careless-
ness, cause severe personal injury. It is
therefore strongly recommended you
read and observe:
these instructions, particularly the
special safety information in the
respective chapters;
the safety information in the
enclosed red booklet;
and, if necessary, the applicable
legal regulations pertaining to the
operation of combination machines
or planing machines, circular saws
and spindle moulders respectively.
Keep all documents, supplied with the
machine, for future reference.
This machine shall only be started and
operated by persons familiar with combi-
nation machines or planers, circular
saws and spindle moulders respectively
and who are at any time aware of the
dangers associated with the operation of
such tool.
Persons under 18 years of age shall use
this machine only under the supervision
of an instructor in the course of their
vocational training.
The following residual risks do principally
exist with combination machines or plan-
ers, circular saws and spindle moulders
respectively and can not, even by
employing safety devices, completely
eliminated:
Hazard generated by technical
modifications to the machine or
use of parts not tested and
approved by the equipment man-
ufacturer:
Assemble machine exactly as per
these instructions.
Use only parts approved by the
equipment manufacturer.
Do not make changes to any of the
parts.
Use only tools conforming to
EN 847-1.
Use only matching saw blades and
riving knives.
Hazard generated by uninten-
tional starting of the machine:
Unplug before setting the machine
up for a different operating mode.
Unplug when the machine is not in
use.
Hazard generated by environmen-
tal conditions:
Do not operate the machine in rain
or damp environment. Ensure suffi-
cient lighting. Do not operate the
machine near inflammable liquids or
gases.
Hazard to other persons in the
work area:
This machine may only be operated
by one person at a time.
Other persons may stay only at a
distance from the machine for the
purpose of feeding or removing
stock. If working with two persons
the second person should stand at a
rear table extension.
Keep bystanders, particularly chil-
dren, out of the danger zone.
Hazard generated by machine
faults:
Check the machine, its safety
devices and accessories for defects
before using it. Do not operate the
machine with a faulty part. Replace
faulty safety devices as well as worn
