FOREWORD
Thank you for choosing a universal METRONIC remote. We are condent you will be
fully satised with this product. Models ZAP 2 enable to manage 2 appliances: TV or
ADSL box. After inserting the 1.5V AAA batteries (not supplied) in the remote, you
can set up the remote for each appliance that you wish to control. The universal
ME
TRONIC remote has been conceived to control most products of each brand. In
the set up details below, we use a TV as example. In order to set up the remote
for your ADSL box, replace ‘TV’ with ‘BOX’. After you have set up the remote, simply
press the TV or BOX key to select the appliance you wish to control.
Automatic Search
1 - Switch on your TV. The automatic search might take a little while (up to 15 minutes).
2 - Press the PROG and TV keys together for a few seconds until the light switches
on. When you release the keys the light should stay on.
3 - Press the PROG key. The light should start blinking. Press the key until the light
switches
o and slowly starts blinking again. This means the automatic search
has started. The light should stay on and blink every time a new code is entered.
You should be ready to press the OK key.
4 - As soon as the TV switches o, press the OK key. The light should start blinking.
Press the TV key. The light should switch o. Note: You should be quick enough
not to exceed 1 second before the next code from your remote control (a bit less
than 1 second between turning TV o and time to press key
OK
).
5 - As your TV is now switched o, switch it on again using the original remote or
with the front keys.
6 - Point the remote towards your TV and try using the main features (changing
channels, adjusting sound…). If the remote does not control the TV properly, try
the automatic set up again (from 2). If the remote controls the TV correctly, then
the set up is over.
Changing batteries
When the remote starts struggling to control the appliances or if it does not work
properly, you should try changing batteries. Thanks to its memory function, you can
change batteries withouht losing your settings on the remote.
