2.3 Battery test
This facility is used to test alkaline-manganese
dry-cell batteries (not rechargeable batteries!). The
batteries are allright if the battery check light illumi-
nates when the test button is pressed. If the light
does not illuminate then the residual power is low
and a new set of batteries should be loaded.
2.4 Automatic flashgun cut-out circuit
To avoid accidental battery discharge and to econo-
mise on power consumption, the flashgun automati-
cally switches itself off 10 minutes after it was
switched on or after a flash was fired. The green ope-
rating light and the orange flash-ready light are then
extinguished. Automatic flashgun cut-out can be
prevented by firing a flash or by pressing the switch.
The flashgun will then continue to remain operational
for another 5-10 minutes. Press the I button to turn
on the mecablitz again.
2.5 Mounting the mecablitz on the camera
• Hold the flashgun securely in one hand so that the
controls are facing you. Turn the knurled screw in
the mecablitz adapter foot anti-clockwise to its
leftmost position.
• Slide the mecablitz into the camera’s accessory
shoe.
• Turn the knurled screw clockwise until the stop
point is reached, thereby firmly securing the
mecablitz onto the camera.
