• To lock the focus, press and hold the screen
until you see the words “Focus Locked” at
the bottom. This keeps the focus as you see
it on your screen. This setting does not lock
the exposure, which makes it really good for
trails and other activities where you’re moving
between sunlight to shade frequently.
A couple notes about recording video with
your iPhone
The iPhone has an amazing camera and is capable
of capturing amazing video, especially when used
with OutRide.
• It’s easy to forget that it’s also a phone and
designed to prioritize that functionality. If a call
comes in while recording a video, the iPhone
will automatically stop your recording to give you
the opportunity to answer the call. This is a great
feature for everyday use, but for capturing that
epic downhill... not so much. For this reason we
recommend putting your iPhone into Airplane
Mode before trying to record so that you can
capture everything without interruption. When
you’re done recording, exit Airplane Mode and
use the OutRide app to tag, upload and share
your action.
