1. Unpacking
Please follow the diagrams to unpack your Performance loudspeaker. Gloves are included for your convenience.
2. Cabling
As a guideline you should budget at least 10% of the cost of your loudspeakers on the necessary cabling. The Performance 5C has
the capability for single and bi-wiring.
Note: When bi-wiring, remove the terminal links. See diagram for details.
3. Positioning
(a) Before connecting, consider loudspeaker placement and all cabling requirements. See diagrams for some typical setups.
(b) The Performance 5C should be positioned as close to your display screen as possible, at a similar distance from the listener as
the left and right channel loudspeakers. In practice this usually means above or below the display screen on a shelf or on the wall
bracket (available separately). The speaker should be positioned with the tweeter at ear height. If this is not practical, adjust the
angle to point the tweeter toward the listener. This also applies if the speaker is used as a centre rear channel.
(c) The foot positioned at the rear of the Performance 5C can be rotated to adjust the vertical angle of the speaker. Use the supplied
allen key to loosen the screw on the side of the foot, and rotate the foot to adjust the angle. To secure, tighten the screw onto
the flat part of the spindle.
Note: If applicable, ensure the correct distances/time delays are entered into the "Loudspeaker Setup" settings of your receiver (refer
to your receiver manual for details).
4. Running In
It is important to allow your loudspeakers a running in period of at least 100 hours. This allows the various materials to reach their
correct properties and achieve optimum performance.
