The function keys under the text dis -
play screen are used to program func-
t ions (fig. 1/A and 4):
P = Programming mode
> = Selection key
ok = Confirmation key
exit = Cancel or end programming
Important: Please note that you can
only program functions if the On / Off
button (fig. 1/H) is switched to ON
(display lit up).
The following functions are pro-
grammable:
• “My Coffee” individual programm ing
• Operation with / without filter
• Water hardness
• Temperature
• Automatic switch off
• Language
• Rinse settings
• Energy / ECO mod
4.1 “My Coffee” individual programm -
ing (only NICR770)
To program the 1 and 2 cup buttons
for coffee to suit personal preference,
simply follow the following steps:
➔ Press the program key P to enter
programming mode. The display reads
“PROGRAM MY COFFEE”.
➔ Press the ok key. The display reads
“MY COFFEE FLAVOUR”.
➔ Press the ok key and press the
> key until your preferred settings
appears in the display.
➔ Press the ok key to confirm.
➔ Press again the > key – the display
reads “MY COFFEE AMOUNT”
➔ Press the ok key and press the
> key until your preferred settings
appears in the display.
➔ Press the ok key to confirm.
➔ Afterwards please press the exit
key. You can now either continue in
programming mode to change other
function settings or press exit again to
leave programming mode.
By holding down the 1 cup button for
some time (approx. 3 seconds, until
“My Coffee” appears in the display)
you will now always get a cup that
corresponds to the setting you selec-
ted (and similarly 2 cups by pressing
the 2 cup button for longer).
4.2 Filter
Inserting a filter
A special filter for the water reservoir
is included in the machine accesso-
ries. If you use this filter correctly you
will not need to descale your coffee
machine as often (recommended: des-
cale about twice per year, see point
5.4, ‘descaling’). You must change
the filter setting to “FILTER YES” so
that the machine knows that the filter
has been inserted. The de fault setting
is “FILTER NO”.
The current setting is indicated in the
display screen.
➔ Press the program key P to enter
programming mode.
➔ Press the > key until “PROGRAM
FILTER” appears in the display.
➔ Press the ok key.
➔ Press the > key until “FILTER
YES” appears in the display.
➔ Press the ok key to confirm.
➔ “INSERT FILTER” and “TURN
VALVE” appear alternately in the display.
➔ Empty the water tank (fig. 1/B and
2) and screw the filter carefully into
the bracket provided in the water
