ODYS Neo S8 isa MID with full color screen.
Althoughthis produ ct issafe, please observe the infor mationand warn ings fromthe user manual.
The user manual is instal ledat the devices internal memory andcan be ac cessed overthe main menu.
Pleaserefer to the user manual fo rdetailed instructions,conformity and support
information.
‐To open the users manual ple asetap on the manual iconyou can
see at the home screen to open the fol d e r where the manuals are
stored in.
Turning On/Off
Toturn on thedevice,press andhold the Power buttonon the unit untilyou see
theboot ‐ upscreen thenrelease. It may takea fewminutes to start up the system,
please waitbefore you proceed.
Toturn off the device,press andhold the Power
button until you see the option
“Power Off”, tapon “Power Off” and then tapon “OK”.
Tip: This device willsleep withthe screenoff if it stay sinactive for a fewseconds. You can
brieflypress the Powerbutton to turn on th e screenand wake it up.
Power On andOff the Display
‐Shortly press the [Pow er] button to turn off the display.
‐Press the [Power] button again shortly turn the display on again.
Language Setting
‐Press [Menu] button to call out the Option Menu.
‐Tap on [Settings] and select [Language & Keyboard]
‐Tap on [Select Language] and select your desired language.
Getting Started
1. Power Button
Press and hold the powerswitch to turn on or off the device;
Briefly press theswitch to turn the screen on or off.

Charging Battery
The device hasa built‐ in rechargea ble battery. No extra bat tery installation is required.
Just charge the devicewhen it indicates lowbattery.
Tocharge the battery, connect the device to any standard wall outlet via the DC‐ IN port
using the power adaptor. Ittakes abo ut5 hours to fullycharge the battery.
Note:
a. You canoperate the de vice evenwhen it is being charged. Butfor extendedbattery life, it is
suggested NOTto use the devicewhen it is charging.
b. It isrecommended to chargethe battery beforeyou usethe device forthe firsttime.
c. Formaximum performance, lithium‐ ionbatteries needto be usedoften . If you don’tuse the
deviceoften, be sure to rechargethe battery at leastonce per month.
d. Shouldthe rechargeablebattery of the device discharge completely, connectthe device (usingthe
adapter)to the main power source for approximately5 ‐10 minutes bef oreattempting normal
operation.
e. In some cases, deviceswhich have been chargedfor longer periodsof time may not be able to be
switched backon. Should this occur, pressthe RESET switch.
Touchscreen
The touchscreen is a capacitive dis play and designed for precision and responds best when
touched with the smallest point possible. Use the flat pad of your finger to touchthe screen.
Connect via USB
Please note: Please make sure when connecting the USB adapter or
connectorcables attent ion to thecorrect alignment of the connector
before inserting it into the USB socket on the unit. Incorrect insertion
may cause damage to plug an d socket.
On the side of the plug there are usuallysmall sizes of hooks
that secure the fixation.
Pay special attention on theposition of thehooks, they show
upward when connecting cables while the screen is above.
InstallingMemory Card
This device can read files directly frommemory card andUSB memory.
Open themicro SD card compartment at the backside of the engine. Softly use
your fingernailto open the compartment starting from the edge of it.
To usea memory card, find the card slot atthe side of
the device and then insert
thememory card into the slot in the correct orientation or ConnectUSB Memory
usinga USB adaptor cable (not provided). To access the files stored in the
memory card, enter theExplorer mode by tapping the Explorer icon and select
the“SD Card” directory.
‐Check that the SD card is in the correct position with the contact pin facing
downwards as illustrated. Youmay damage the card and the readerif SD card is
not inserted in correct position.
‐Push the SD card into the card slot until it clicks.
‐To remove SD
card, push the SD card onceagain untilit clicks.
Note:We recommend using only Micro SD or SDHC cards up to 32GB capacity.
‐When a SD card is inserted in or ejected fr om thedevice, it may take fewseconds for the
device to update the content.
‐Please avoid inserting or ejecting SD card when other operation is run ning as this may cause
the system hang.
‐Do Not remove the card if the conten tinside the card isbeing played. This willhalt the
operation of the device and might cause a system hang.
‐Please use your fingernails to properly insert or remove the SD card.
Transferring Files
Before reading or playing files, you needto transfer media files froma computerto the device.
(1) Connect the deviceto a computerwith the suppliedUSB cable and tap on “Turn onUSB sto rage”.
(2) Once connected,two remo vabl edisk drives will show on your computer. One represents the
internalmemory ofthe device, and the other represents thememory card inserted intothe
device. Now you can copyfiles from or to these disk drives just as you would on your hard drive.
(3) Choose “Turn offUSB Storage” and then tap “Turn Off”to disconne ct the device
from computer.
(4) Disconnect the device from the PC safely.
a) Left‐ click the
icon at the right bottom corner of the computer desktop.
b) Clickthe pop ‐up mini ‐window message of “Stop the USB Mass Storage Device – Drive (X).”
c) Disconnect the device from the computer.
Note: Thepre ‐ installedapplications and AndroidOS occupy a c onsiderable part of capacity – ne arly more than
1GB, it isnormal that you seehuge dif ference betweenavailable memory space and totalcapacity.
Caution! The devic e supports Adobe DRM contents. Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) is required. Please refer to the
user’s manual for closer information’s on how to use DRM protecte d files.
Screen lock
The screen automatically turns off and locks itself aftera set period of time.
When the screen turned off, press thePower buttonto light up the screen.
Push the lock icon
and drag it to the open lock at the right side to unlock.

- You can copy the applications onto the Home screen by pressing
and holding on their icons.
- You can delete the application from the Home Screen by dragging
their icons to the Cross that appears at the top of the screen .
