RECEPTION
If the machine beeps and the error LED comes on,
this means that an error has occurred (e.g. an
interruption in the connection). If this is the case, let
the facsimile machine finish redialling the numbers
waiting for transmission and then press LINE STATUS
and STOP at the same time to switch off the error
LED and repeat the polling request to the
correspondents who have not transmitted the
document. To identify the correspondents see the
“Last RX report” or print out the connection activity
data (see the “Connection activites” section of the
“MEMORY” chapter.
PRIVATE MAILBOX RECEPTION
When the documents that you intend to receive are confidential, you can adopt a special procedure that assigns
a password consisting of four alphanumeric characters to each document to be received. Instead of being
printed, the document will be stored in a specific memory location (private mailbox). The document can only
be printed when the password has been entered. The password must be chosen in agreement between the
users of the two facsimile machines (receiving and transmitting units).
To print or delete documents received in the private mailbox, see the “Documents in the private mailbox” section
of the “MEMORY” chapter).
When you perform operations that require use of the memory, check the percentage of free memory on the
display. If the memory is almost full, clear it of documents no longer required, so as to create space for new
storage operations (see the “Connection activities” and “Total number of documents in the memory” sections
of the “MEMORY” chapter.
SUBSTITUTE RECEPTION
This function enables the facsimile machine to receive documents even when there is no paper or ink left, if
the paper has jammed or if the facsimile machine is performing printing operations. After restoring the facsimile
machine to normal operation, the documents will automatically be printed.
Substite reception is activated by means of the operating configuration parameter “SUBSTITUTE RECEPTION”
(see the “Setting the operating configuration parameters” section of the “PROGRAMMING” chapter).
To find out the reference parameters that help you to identify a document waiting to be printed, refer to the
“Documents waiting to be printed” section of the “MEMORY” chapter.
