PURGING THE PRINT HEAD
This operation restores the print head to perfect working order.
o The facsimile machine is on and in stand-by. Position the mask (right-hand section of the console) to
display the function keys.
1. Press PRINT.
2. Press START.
The facsimile starts the print head purging operation.
At the end, follow the print head nozzle test procedure to check that the operation was performed successfully.
SOLVING PROBLEMS BY YOURSELF
Some problems that cannot be attributed to the facsimile machine malfunctioning may arise; the aim of this
section is to help you to solve these problems by yourself without wasting any time.
Note: if the solutions described below do not solve the problems listed or if different problems arise, call a
technician from the Customer Engineering Service.
PROBLEM CHECK IF:
The display is not activated. • the facsimile machine is on; .
• the power cable is correctly connected.
You cannot feed in the document. • the operator console is closed;
• the thickness of the document lies within the specified
limits;
• the document is folded or crumpled;
• the document is correctly inserted in the slot;
• a document is jammed inside the machine;
• the feed rollers are dirty.
You cannot send a document. • the facsimile machine is switched on;
• the document is inserted correctly;
• the receiving unit is set for reception.
