6.4 Legrests

CAUTION

Improper use of the legrests

Tipping over, falling due to errors in handling the product

►Fold up the footplates before getting in.

WARNING

Reduced ground clearance with the "foot-propelled chair" option

Tipping over, falling due to getting caught on obstacles

►Please note that wheelchairs with the "foot-propelled wheelchair" option might fall below the minimum ground

clearance of 40mm depending on the selected settings for the lower leg length and the front seat height.

►Adjust your driving to the reduced ground clearance and exercise particular caution with obstacles on the

ground e.g.steps, curbs and thresholds.

The legrests support the user's legs.

The height of the legrest has been adjusted by qualified personnel to the length of the user's lower legs.

The angle of the footrest has been set by the qualified personnel so that it allows the ankles to rest in a comfortable

position.

6.4.1 Attaching/removing the legrests

The legrests of the Avantgarde DV can be removed to make it easier to get in and out as well as for transport.

Attaching the legrests

1) Hold the legrest 90° out to the side and insert it into the legrest retainer (see fig.12).

2) Swing the legrest into the direction of travel until it engages (see fig.13).

3) Fold the footplate down (see fig.14).

Removing the legrests

1) Fold the footplate up (see fig.14).

2) Pull the release lever for the legrest to the side (see fig.15).

3) Swing the legrest out by 90° and remove it from the legrest retainer (see fig.13).
