1. Inser t the incl uded CD -ROM into y our PC.
• The Setup Program starts. I f the program does not st art, double-click Setup.exe found
on the CD-ROM.
2. Click [Search for Ca meras].
• The program searches for cameras connec ted to your network.
If [Wi ndows cannot open this f ile] is d isplayed af ter cl icking [Manual ]
[Select the program from a list]→[OK] → Check [Always use the selected program to open this
kind of file]→[Browse] → Browse to [C:\WIND OWS\system32\ms hta.exe]→[Open] →[OK]
3. When the Window s Secur ity Aler t is displa yed, cl ick
[Unblock].
4. For BL-C210A /BL-C230A Only:
If the ca mera is connected to a router , follow the
procedure below and s et [Network Settings] to
[Automatic Setup].
1. Select the desired camera and click [Network Settings].
2. In the [Network Settings] screen, select [Automatic S etup], then click [Save] .
• The camera restarts.
3. When [Camera s etup completed] is displayed, click [OK].
4. W ait about one m inute, then click [Begin Searc h].
5. Select the camera you want to configure, and click
[Acc ess Ca mera].
• T o assign all network settings to the camera manually or to assign an IP address using
the DHCP or the Automatic feature of your router , click [Network Settings], then select
[S pecify an IP Address ], [DHCP] or [Automat ic Setup] and enter the appropriate
settings.
6. Enter the desi red user name and p assword, then cli ck
[Save] .
• Do not forget the user name and password you set here, otherwise you will need to
reset the camera and configure it again.
7. Enter t he user name and p assword, then click [OK].
• When the user name and password dialog is displayed, enter t he user name and
password used in step 6, and t hen click [OK].
8. For BL-C230 On ly:
Click [Ne xt] to configure the camera ’ s wirel ess
settings, e nter th e wireless settings , then click [Save] .
• These settings are not available for the BL-C210, continue to the next step.
• If you are not us ing a wireless connection, select [Disab le] and then click [NEX T] to
skip this step.
• [About this progra m]: Displays the program’s version
information.
• [Search for Cameras]: Displays a list of cameras
connected to your network.
• [Manual]: A llows you to view t he included
documentation. PDF versions of the printed
documentation are included on t he CD-ROM; Adobe
®
Reader
®
is required to view them.
• [Update Firmware]: Allows you to use the Setup
Program to update the camera’s firmware (built-in
softwa re) .
• [Save Settings to PC/Save Settings to Camera]:
Allows you to s ave a backup of all cam era settings on
your PC, or restore all settings in the camera using a
backup file saved on your PC.
• [Network Camera Reco rder with Viewer Software

• [Exit]: Closes the scree n and exits the Setup Program.
• If the dialog is not displayed, cont inue to the next step.
• If you have more than one camer a, you can
distinguish cameras by model number ,
printed on the front of the camera, or by
MAC address (this refers to the MAC
address label on t he camera).
• If more than 20 minutes have passed since
the selected camer a was turned on, you
cannot configure the cam era. Turn off the
camera, then tu rn it on again. This
restriction does not apply to cameras which
have not been configured yet or have been
reset to their factory default settings.
• If you have more than one camer a, you can
distinguish cameras by model number ,
printed on the front of t he camera, or by
MAC address (this refers t o the MAC
address label on t he camera).

• If you are u sing firewall or antivirus s oftware on your PC, the Setup Pr ogram may not
be able to find any cameras on your network. If you cannot disable your firewall or
antivirus software, you can configure the camera by entering it s MAC address (this
refers to t he MAC address label on the c amera).
If you are using a French, German, It alian,
S panish, Russian, Simplified Chinese, or
Japanese language OS, this screen will be
displayed in the corresponding language,
and all subsequent camera sc reens will be
displayed in that languag e.
Access your wireless router and display its
wireless settings. If your wireless router is
not configured to use encryption, there is a
risk of unauthorized acces s to your network
and data. Enabling encrypt ion is strongly
recomm ended; WP A-PSK (TKI P) or WP A 2-
PSK (A ES) are particularly recommended
(they are offer more security than WEP
encryption). Note that when the router’s
wireless settings a re changed (including
encrypti on settings), wireless network
settings for all devices that connect to the
router wirelessly mu st also be changed. For
information o n changing settings, re fer to th e
operating instructions included with your
wireless router and network devices. M atch
the camera’s wireless settings to t he router ’s
