Shooting
The picture cannot be recorded.
• Is the mode correctly set? (P20)
• Is there any memory capacity left on the built-in memory or the card?

Before recording, delete some pictures. (
P42)
The recorded pictures are pale.
• The picture can become whitish if there is dirt e.g. ngerprints on the lens.

If the lens is dirty, turn on the camera, eject the lens barrel (
P9) and gently wipe the
lens surface with a soft dry cloth.
The area around where the pictures were taken becomes dark.
• Was this picture taken with the ash at the close range when the zoom is near [W] (1×)?

Zoom in a little, and then take the pictures. (P37)
The recorded picture is too bright or dark.

Check that the exposure is correctly compensated. (
P53)
2 or 3 pictures are taken at one time.

Set other than [HI-SPEED BURST] (P61) in Scene Mode or set [BURST] (P78) to
[OFF].
The subject is not focused properly.
• The focus range varies depending on the Recording Mode.

Set the proper Recording Mode for the distance to the subject.
• Is the subject out of the focus range? (P31, 34 and 51)
• Have you taken a picture with jitter? (P36)
The recorded picture is blurred. The optical image stabilizer is not effective.

The shutter speed becomes slower when pictures are taken in dark places so hold
the camera rmly with both hands to take the pictures. (P30)

When taking pictures at a slow shutter speed, use the self-timer. (P52)
