Remote control only
This timer records the radio or an external source at the set time.
The example shows settings for recording from 18:30 to 20:00.
Preparation:
¡Press [^] to turn the unit on, set the time (
a
page 10).
¡Do the preparatory steps for the MD (
a
page 20) or tape (
a
page 21).
¡When recording to an MD, adjust the recording level and select the
recording mode (
\ page 20).
1 Press [CLOCK/TIMER] three times to select “z REC”.
Each time you press the button:
CLOCK
/ z PLAY / z REC / Original display

Press [u/2 REW/ ] or [1/i /FF] to select
ON time.

Press [CLOCK/TIMER] or [ENTER].

OFF time.

4 Select the source.
The radio
Press [BAND TUNER] and tune in the desired station.
An external unit
Press [EXT-IN] to select “OPT IN” or “AUX”.
Each time you press the button:
USB
/ OPT IN / AUX / P-MD
5 Press [z PLAY/z REC] to select “MD REC” or “TAPE
REC”.
Each time you press the button:
TIMER-PLAY
/ TIMER-REC / TIMER-REC / TIMER OFF
(when the play MD REC TAPE REC (Canceled)
timer is set)
6 Press [^] to turn the unit off.
Recording starts 30 seconds before the set time with the volume
muted during the set time.
The “z
REC” indicator flashes while the timer is functioning.
If you set the timer incorrectly
Repeat the procedure from step 1.
To cancel the timer
While the unit is on
Press [z
PLAY/z REC] to clear the timer indicator from the display.
¡ Timer recording starts from the set time even if TURN BACK or
TURN/TIME is selected.
¡ You cannot use the play timer and record timer at the same time.
¡ When recording from “OPT IN”, select the recording level (
a
page 48)
before setting the record timer. The level is set when you set the timer.
