Residual-heat indicator
Residual-heat indicator
The indicator shows that the cooking zone
is still hot (60 °C or higher), and goes out as
soon as the glass top reaches a safe
temperature.
The residual heat indicator light comes on for
the relevant cooking zone.
Timer
You can have a cooking zone switched off by
the timer. You then use the timer as an
automatic cooking feature.
1 Switch the hob on, select a cooking zone
and set the power level.
2 Press the timer button.
3 2 Set a cooking time using the '–' and '+'
buttons.
You can set a cooking time from 0 to a
maximum of 99 minutes.
The number of minutes chosen is shown in
the display. The indicator light belonging to
the zone in the timer display comes on.
At the end of the cooking time, you hear a
beep.
The zone switches off.
Press any button to switch off the beep.
Press the '–' or '+' buttons to set a new
cooking time.
Alarm clock
You can also use the timer as an egg timer. In
this case, the cooking timer only gives a
sound signal at the end of the cooking time.
1 Switch the hob on.
2 Press the timer button.
3 Set a timer time using the '–' and '+'
buttons.
You can set the timer time from 0 to a
maximum of 99 minutes.

At the end of the timer time, you hear a beep.
Press any button to switch off the beep.
Press the '–' or '+' buttons to set a new timer

OPERATION
Switching on
Introduction
The ceramic hob is fitted with a residual heat
indicator, a timer, a (childproof) lock, an
automatic cooking-time limiter and a double
cooking zone. On this page and the following
ones, you can read how to use these facilities.
Switching on
1 Put a pan on a cooking zone.
2 Press the on/off button for 2 seconds.
The indicator lights in the displays flash.
The hob is now in the stand-by setting. The
cooking zones can now be operated. If you do
not operate the hob within 10 seconds, the
hob will switch itself off again. The light goes
out. During the cooking process the on/off
button can be used as an emergency switch-
off. Press the button and the appliance will
switch off immediately.
Selecting a cooking zone
1 Select a cooking zone using the selection
buttons.
The indicator light in the relevant display
comes on.
Setting the power level
1Select a higher or lower setting by pressing
the – or + buttons.
The cooking zones have 9 settings. The
display shows the setting selected. You can
see which setting to select in the cooking
tables on page 24.
2 2 Switch the cooking zone off by setting the
cooking setting to '
0' using the '–' button.
