Faults
General
In case of faults phone the service department. See the guarantee certificate or
consult the internet site www.hps.nl.
If you notice a crack on the cooking surface (no matter how little), switch off the
appliance immediately. Remove the plug from the socket or set the switch of
the power supply cable (in the case of a fixed connection) to zero or turn off the
fuse switch(es) in the meter cupboard.
Phone the service department.
This appliance should only be connected up by a registered electrical installer!
The electrical connection must comply with national and local regulations.
Damage caused by incorrect connection, incorrect use or incorrect building in
is not covered by the guarantee.

If the appliance does not work properly, this does not always mean that it is
defective. Try to deal with the problem yourself first by checking the points
mentioned below:

After the appliance has been electrified,
text appears in the displays.
Normal operation. NOTHING: see chapter “building in“
in the installation part of this manual.
After the appliance has been switched
on, the fuse in the meter cupboard
blows.
Appliance incorrectly connected. Check the electrical installation.
Only one side of the hob works or if
the appliance generates continuous
beep.
The hob does not work and the lights
are not on.
Appliance incorrectly connected.
The appliance has been connected
incorrectly or the mains voltage is not
right.
Check the electrical installation.
Check the electrical installation (main
fuse(s) or the connection).
The fan keeps on running after the
appliance has been switched off.
The electronic circuits inside the hob
are being cooled.
This is normal.
The appliance suddenly stops during
use. You hear a double beep every
2 seconds and in the display a dash
appears.
The time programmed has expired,
something has boiled over or an object
is hindering the controls.
Press the + or - button of the timer
and the beep will stop. Clean the
control panel or remove the object and
continue cooking.
A series of dashes appear. Overheating of the electronics in the
hob.
Let the appliance cool down and check
the installation instructions for correct
installation.
The appliance does not work. In the
display another message appears.
Malfunctioning of the electronics. Contact the service department.
After the zone has been switched on,
the zone displays continue to flash.
Unsuitable pans, pan smaller than
12 cm or no pan on the cooking zone.

“Comfortable cooking”.
While cooking, you hear a rattling
noise in the base of the pan.
The noise is due to the high power of
the cooking zone having an effect on
the base of the pan.
This is normal for some pans on
higher settings. It is harmless for the
induction hob.
When you use the hob the first time,
you notice that it smells 'new'.
This is caused by the appliance's finish
heating up. It is perfectly normal.
The odour will disappear of its own
accord as a result of ventilation.
You hear a ticking sound in your hob. This is caused by the appliance
switching over from the rear cooking
zone to the front one and back again
or if you choose a low setting.
This is normal.
