When you use pans on the back zones, make sure the pan does not stand on or
touch the profile of the glass decorative lid. Keep a distance of at least 2.5 cm
between the profile and the pan; otherwise the profile might get damaged.
The glass cover may break as a result of heat. Check that all the cooking zones/hot
plates have been switched off and have cooled down before you close the cover.
2.2 What you should pay attention to (ceramic hob)
The cooking zones get very hot during use and also remain hot for some time after
use (see also ‘residual heat indication’). Do not allow small children in the vicinity of
the hob during and soon after cooking.
The glass-ceramic cooking surface is very strong but not unbreakable. A breakage
may occur if a sharp object falls on it.
Do not use the hob as a work surface for cutting meat or vegetables, for instance.
Do not continue to use an appliance whose cooking surface is showing a break or
cracks. Switch the appliance off immediately. Remove the plug from the socket or
set the switch of the power supply cable (in the case of a fixed connection) to zero or
turn off the fuse switch(es) in the meter cupboard. Phone the service department.
Aluminium trays or foil are not suitable as cooking utensils.
2.3 What you should pay attention to (electric hob)
The hot plates get very hot during use and also remain hot for some time after use.
Do not allow small children in the vicinity of the hob during and soon after cooking.
Turn the mains voltage off during cleaning and maintenance by unplugging the plug
from the socket or by switching off the circuit-breaker in the meter cupboard.
Never use the hot plates without any pans on it.
Never put aluminium foil directly onto the hot plates.
Remove spills as quickly as possible. Spills caused by boiling over of dishes such as
red cabbage, rhubarb and apple sauce in particular must be removed immediately.
If they remain on the enamel or stainless steel surface for too long, the surface may
discolour.
Moisture on the cooking surface may cause rust.
2 Safety
3.1 General
This appliance complies with all the relevant CE directives.
On the label on the back of this equipment, you will find the total wattage, the
required voltage and the frequency.

Keep a free space of at least 2 cm around the hob.
After installation, the socket or switch (in case of a fixed connection) must always be
accessible.
The walls around the appliance must be made of heat resistant (>85°C) material.
Even if the appliance itself does not get hot, the heat from a hot frying pan for
instance could cause discolouring or damage to the walls.
Ensure that the power cord will not become in contact with parts that can become hot.
Do not place any inflammable or deformable objects directly beneath the hob.
3.3 Safety

at the bottom of the appliance). If another connecting is required, let a registered
electrical installer made the connection.
The connection terminals are accessible once you have opened the connection box
on the underneath of the appliance. The connection box cover can be opened with
a screwdriver. You can use the bridges provided in the connecting box to make the
required interconnections.
If you want to make a fixed connection, make sure that a multi-polar switch with a
contact separation of at least 3 mm is fitted in the supply line.
The power cord is a type Y. This means that the power cord may only be replaced by
the manufacturer, the manufacturer’s service organisation or equivalently qualified
persons, in order to avoid dangerous situations.
