• Read the instructions for use and study
the illustrations before you start using
the appliance.
• To prevent damage: check if the
voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to the local mains voltage
(110-127 V or 220-240 V) before
connecting the appliance.
• Keep the appliance away from children.
• Never leave the appliance alone when it
is turned on.
• Never fill the jar with ingredients that
have a temperature of over 80˚C
• Avoid spilling: never fill the jar above
the maximum level indication (i.e. 1.25
litres), especially when you are mixing
liquids. Always place the lid on the jar
before you start using the appliance.
• The blender has been equipped with an
automatic safety system that prevents
the appliance from functioning if the
knife unit and the glass jug have been
incorrectly assembled.
• Do not switch the appliance on and off
by turning the jar.
• After you have turned off the appliance,
wait until the knife unit has completely
stopped rotating before you take off the
jar.
• Never put your hand or an object in the
jar when the appliance is plugged in. If
necessary, use a spatula to spoon food
away from the wall of the jar, but
always turn the appliance off before
doing so!
• Never detach the jar from the motor
unit when the appliance is running.
• Never immerse the motor unit in water
or any other fluid, nor rinse it under the
tap.
• Never use accessories or parts that are
not explicitly recommended by Philips.
• Your guarantee will become invalid if
you use such accessories or parts.
• Never use the appliance when the
mains cord, plug or other parts are
damaged. If the mains cord of this
appliance is damaged, it may only be
replaced with a cord of the original
type. Turn to your Philips dealer or the
authorised Philips service centre in
your country for replacement.
Cord storage
You can store excess
cord length by winding it
round the reel in the
base of the appliance
(fig. 14). Fix the cord at
the required length by
pressing it in the slot at
the back of the appliance.
