3. You may have used cups that are too large, which cause the coffee to get

cold more quickly. We advise you to use a 200ml cup for cappuccino.

The SENSEO

machine

splatters when it brews

a cappuccino.

You may have used milk that is too warm. Make sure you use cold milk

straight from the refrigerator (5-8°C).

The CALC light is on. The CALC light goes on when you need to descale the machine. This

happens after approximately 400 cups of SENSEO

black coffee or

cappuccino have been brewed. To descale your SENSEO

machine, follow the

instructions in chapter ‘Descaling’. The CALC light goes out after the descaling

procedure has been performed correctly and the Calc-Clean tool has been

removed.

The CALC light ashes

slowly.

The CALC light ashes slowly when the descaling procedure is still in

progress. The descaling procedure consists of 2 cycles: the descaling cycle

(approx. 35 minutes) and the rinsing cycle (approx. 5 minutes). The CALC

light goes out when the two cycles are nished.

The CALC light does

not go out after

descaling.

The CALC light only goes out if the machine has been descaled according to

the descaling instructions in chapter ‘Descaling’.

The descaling procedure was perhaps interrupted. The CALC light only goes

out if the machine completed the entire descaling procedure. This procedure

consists of 2 cycles: the descaling cycle and the rinsing cycle. We advise you

to start the descaling procedure again from scratch, as scale may cause

permanent and irreparable damage to the machine. See chapter ‘Descaling’

for the complete descaling procedure.

I pressed the 1-cup

button q/f and the

2-cup qq button briey

at the same time to

start descaling, but the

machine does not work.

1. If you want to descale the machine, make sure the Calc-Clean tool is

placed correctly. See chapter ‘Descaling’ for more details.

2. Perhaps the machine is still heating up (the light ring around the on/off

button ashes slowly). The machine needs some time to heat up before

descaling is possible.

The CALC light

ashes rapidly.

1. You have started the descaling procedure by pressing the 1-cup button

q/f and the 2-cup button qq briey at the same time without placing the

Calc-Clean tool. You can only start the descaling procedure when the Calc-

Clean tool is in place

2. You have pressed the 1-cup button q/f or the 2-cup button qq while

the Calc-Clean tool is still in the coffee spout. Remove the Calc-Clean tool

when the descaling procedure is nished.

You may have tried to brew coffee or cappuccino while the descaling

procedure is not yet nished. 1) Reinsert the Calc-Clean tool into the spout.

2) Put a bowl under the spout. 3) Fill the water reservoir with fresh water

and put it back onto the coffee machine. 4) Press the 1-cup button q/f and

the 2-cup button qq briey at the same to start the rinsing cycle.
