The Philips Wak e-up Light helps you wake up more pleasantl y . The light gently
prepares your body for waking up at the set time. T o make waking up an even more
pleasant experience , you can use natural wake-up sounds or the FM r adio to wake up
to (HF3507, HF3506, HF3505 only).
The effects of the W ak e-up Light
The Philips Wak e-up Light gently prepares your body f or waking up during the last
30 minutes of sleep. In the ear ly morning hour s our eyes are more sensitive to
light than when we are a wake. Dur ing that per iod the relatively lo w light levels of a
simulated natural sunr ise prepare our body for waking up and getting aler t. People
who use the Wak e-up Light wake up more easily , have a better o verall mood in the
morning and feel more ener getic. Because the sensitivity to light differ s per per son,
you can set the light intensity of y our Wak e-up Light to a level that matches y our light
sensitivity for an optimal star t of the day .

Important
- Read this impor tant information carefully before you use the appliance and sa ve

Danger
- W ater and electricity are a dangerous combination. Do not use this appliance in
wet surroundings (e .g. in the bathroom or near a shower or swimming pool).
- Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
- Do not let water r un into the appliance or spill water onto the appliance (Fig. 1).
W arning
- The adapter contains a transfor mer . Do not cut off the adapter to replace it with
another plug, as this causes a hazardous situation.
- Only use the adapter supplied.
- Do not place anything close to the appliance that could cause water or an y other
liquid to drip or splash onto the appliance .
- If the mains cord or the adapter is damaged, always ha ve it replaced with one of
the original type in order to avoid a hazard.
- Do not immer se the appliance in water nor rinse it under the tap.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical,
sensor y or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they
hav e been given super vision or instr uction concer ning use of the appliance by a
per son responsible for their saf ety .
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- This appliance is for indoor use only (Fig. 2).
Caution
- The adapter transfor ms 100-240 V ac, 50/60 Hz to a safe low voltage of 15 Vdc.
The adapter’ s maximum input current is 0.15 A, the main unit’ s maximum input
current is 0.36 A.
- Do not use the adapter in or near wall sockets that contain or ha ve contained an
electric air freshener to prevent ir reparable damage to the adapter .
- Clean the appliance with a dr y or damp soft clean cloth only . Do not use
abrasive cleaning agents and pads or cleaning solvents like alcohol, acetone , etc . ,
as this may damage the surface of the appliance.
- Do not drop the appliance on the oor , hit it hard or expose it to other hea vy shocks.
- Place the appliance on a stable, level and non-slipper y surface .
- Do not use the appliance at room temper atures lower than 10°C or higher than 35°C.
- Make sure the vents on the appliance remain open during use.
- Never use the appliance if the lamp housing is damaged, broken or missing.
- Consult your doctor before y ou star t using the appliance if you hav e suffered
from or are suffering from ser ious depression.
- Do not use this appliance as a means to reduce your hours of sleep. The pur pose of this
appliance is to help you wake up more easil y . It does not diminish your need for sleep.
- The appliance has no on/off switch. T o disconnect the appliance from the mains,
remov e the adapter from the wall socket. The adapter must remain easily
accessible at all times.
- This appliance is only intended for household use, including similar use for
instance in hotels.
General
- This appliance allows you to choose the light intensity level y ou want to wake up to .
- Intended to wake y ou up with gradually increasing light.
- This is not a general illumination product.
- If you often wake up too early or with a headache, reduce the light intensity level.
- If you share a bedroom with someone else, this per son may unintentionally wake
up from the light of the appliance, even though this person is fur ther removed
from the appliance. This phenomenon is the result of differences in light sensitivity
between people.
- The power consumption of the appliance is lo west if the radio and the lamp are
switched off.
Electroma gnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all applicable standards and regulations regarding
exposure to electromagnetic elds.
Recycling
- This symbol means that this product shall not be disposed of with normal
household waste (2012/19/EU) (Fig. 3).

The appliance does
not work at all.
P erhaps the adapter is not inser ted proper ly in the wall
socket. Put the adapter proper ly in the wall socket.
P erhaps there is a pow er failure. Check if the power supply
works by connecting another appliance .
The appliance
does not respond
when I tr y to set
different functions.
Remov e the adapterfrom the wall socket and reinser t it.
The appliance goes back to factor y settings. Y ou need to set
all functions again.
The lamp does
not go on when
the alarm goes off.
P erhaps y ou set a light intensity level that is too low . Increase
the light intensity level.
P erhaps the appliance is defectiv e. Contact the Philips
Consumer Care Centre in your countr y .
HF3507, HF3506,
HF3505 only:I do
not hear the alarm
sound when the
alarm goes off.
P erhaps y ou set a sound level that is too low . T o set a higher
sound level, see chapter ‘Using the appliance’, section ‘Radio/
volume’.
P erhaps the radio is not tuned cor rectly to a channel. Switch on
the radio to check if the r adio is tuned cor rectly to a radio channel.
If you selected the radio as the alarm sound, the r adio may
be defective. Switch on the radio after you switch off the
alarm to check if the r adio wor ks. If it does not wor k,
contact the Philips Consumer Care Centre in your countr y .
HF3507, HF3506,
HF3505 only: The
radio does not
work.
The radio may be defective. Contact the Philips Consumer
Care Centre in your countr y .
P erhaps y ou set the volume too low . Increase the volume level.
HF3507, HF3506,
HF3505 only: The
radio produces a
crackling sound.
P erhaps the broadcast signal is weak. Adjust the frequency (see
chapter ‘Using the appliance’ section ‘Radio/volume’ in the user
manual) and/or change the position of the antenna by mo ving it
around. Make sure you ha ve unw ound the antenna completely .
The alarm went
off yesterda y , but
it did not go off
today .
P erhaps y ou switched off the alarm function. When the alarm
is switched ON, the alarm icon is shown in the display . If you
do not see the alarm icon on the display , press the alarm
button once.(See chapter ‘Using the appliance’ section ‘Setting
the alarm’ in the user manual).
P erhaps y ou set a sound level and/or light intensity level that
is too low . Set a higher sound and/or light intensity level.
The light wakes
me too ear ly .
P erhaps the light intensity level y ou ha ve set is not
appropriate for you. T r y a lower light intensity level if y ou
wake up too early . If light intensity 1 is not low enough,
mov e the appliance fur ther away from the bed.
The light wakes
me too late
P erhaps the appliance is positioned at a low er level than y our
head. Make sure the appliance is located at a height at which
the light is not blocked b y your bed, duvet or pillow . Also
make sure the appliance is not placed too far awa y .
