Introduction
With your ne w Philips Ladysha ve y ou can quickly , easily
and comfortably remov e unwanted hair fr om dry or
wet skin.
This Ladyshav e can only be operated on batter ies.
Important
Read this user manual carefully before y ou use the
appliance and sav e it for future reference.
Store the appliance at a temperature between 15°C
and 35°C .
Make sure that y our hands and the appliance are dr y
when inser ting the batter ies.
Do not clean the Ladyshav e with water that is hotter
than shower temperature.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they ha v e been given super vision
or instr uction concer ning use of the appliance by a
per son responsible for their saf ety .
Children should be super vised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
This appliance is only intended for sha ving human
hair . Do not use it for any other purpose .
Regular cleaning and proper maintenance ensure
optimal results and guarantee the longest lifetime for
your Ladysha ve.
T o keep the Ladyshav e water tight:
Make sure that the rubber sealing r ing of the batter y
holder stays clean and undamaged.
Apply some vaseline to the rubber sealing r ing from
time to time.
Electroma gnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
proper ly and in accordance with the instr uctions in this
instr uction manual, the appliance is saf e to use according
to scientic evidence availab le today .

Preparing the appliance f or use
The Ladyshav e r uns on two R6 AA 1.5 v olt batteries.
W e strongl y advise you to use Philips LR6 P o w erLife
batteries. They supply sufcient energy for approx. 40
minutes of sha ving.
Batteries contain substances that may pollute the
environment.
Make sur e y our hands and the appliance are dry when
inserting the batteries.
1 Remove the co ver of the battery holder (F) by
pulling it in the direction of the arr ow (Fig. 2).
2 Put the batteries in the batter y holder (Fig. 3).
Make sure the + and - poles of the batteries are pointing
in the right direction.
3 Push the cover of the battery holder back onto the
appliance (‘click’).
T o av oid damage due to battery leakage:
Note: Do not expose the Ladyshave to direct sunlight.
Note: Do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher
than 35°C .
Note: Remove the batteries if the appliance is not going to
be used for a month or more.
Note: Do not leave empty batter ies in the appliance.
Using the appliance
The Ladyshav e is suitable for :
Shaving y our legs by using the special sha ving head
for legs.
Shaving y our underar ms by using the special sha ving
head for underar ms & bikini line .

Shaving the bikini line b y using the special shaving

On wet skin
Y ou can use your Ladyshav e on wet skin, e .g. while ha ving
a bath or shower .
The best results are obtained if you lather y our skin (with
soap or shaving cream) bef ore you star t shaving.
On dry skin
If you pref er to use the Ladyshav e dr y , mak e sure that
your skin is clean and completely dr y .
Note: There is no difference between using the appliance on
wet skin and using it on dr y skin.
Note: Do not apply alcohol based-lotions to the skin directly
before or after shaving. If you w ant, you can apply some
talcum powder .
Note: A void pressing the shaving head too har d onto the skin
as this will adversely affect shaving performance and may
cause some skin irritation.
Legs
1 Click on the effective sha ving head, which is
especially designed for leg sha ving.
The special leg shaving head is marked with the leg
symbol (Fig. 4).
Note: Do not use the shaving head for legs on your
underarms or bikini line, as this will cause skin irr itation.
2 Stretch the skin with y our free hand to mak e the
hairs stand upright.
3 The angle between the skin and the Ladysha v e
should be 70° to get the best results (Fig. 5).
4 Move the Ladysha v e slowly o ver the skin against
the direction of hair gr owth while pr essing it
slightly .
Underarms and bikini line
1 Click on the gentle sha ving head that is especially
designed for underarm and bikini sha ving.
The special underar m and bikini shaving head is
mar ked with the underar m and bikini symbol (Fig. 6).
Note: Do not use the shaving head for the underarms or
bikini line on your leg, as this will decrease the shaving
performance.
2 When sha ving the underarm area, place one arm
behind your head to str etch the skin (Fig. 7).
3 When sha ving the bikini line, str etch the skin with
your fr ee hand to mak e the hairs stand upright.
4 Move the Ladysha v e slowly o ver the skin.
Tip: Y ou can move the Ladyshave up and down or from left
to right, depending on which movement you nd most
pleasant.
Storage
1 Put the protection ca p on your Ladysha v e after use.
The protection cap prevents the sha ving foil and tw o
trimmer s from becoming damaged.
Cleaning the appliance
Clean the Ladyshav e ever y time you hav e used it.
Do not use any cor rosiv e detergents, scouring pads or
cloths, petrol, acetone etc. to clean the appliance .
Do not exert any pr essur e on the sha ving foil to a void
damage.
After each use
1 Switch the appliance off.
2 Rinse the appliance under the tap (Fig. 8).
Do not clean, rinse or immerse the Ladyshav e in water
if the cover of the battery holder is not properl y closed.
Do not use water that is hotter than show er temperature
to clean the appliance.
3 Rinse the hairs off the sha ving head (Fig. 9).

4 Remove the sha ving head (B) fr om the appliance to
clean the hair chamber and the sha ving
head (Fig. 10).
5 Rinse the hairs off the appliance (Fig. 11).
6 Put the sha ving head back onto the appliance
(‘click’).
A TTENTION: The shaving head ts onl y in one
direction into the sha ving head housing.
Maintenance and replacement
1 Lubricate the sha ving foil with a dr op of sewing
machine oil twice a year (Fig. 12).
Tip: If you use the Ladyshave twice a week or more , we
advise you to replace the shaving head every one to two
years.
The shaving head f or legs may only be replaced with
an original Philips shaving head (type HP6123).
The shaving head f or underar ms & bikini line may
only be replaced with an original Philips shaving head
(type HP6124).
Envir onment
Batteries contain substances that ma y pollute the
envir onment. Always r emov e the batteries befor e
discarding the appliance or handing it in at an
ofcial collection point. Dispose of the batteries at
an ofcial collection point for batteries.
Do not thro w the appliance a wa y with the normal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in
at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing
this you will help to pr eserve the
envir onment (Fig. 13).
