With your new Philips ladysha ve Body Contour you can
quickly , easily and comfor tably remo ve unwanted hair
from dr y or wet skin.
The Philips ladyshav e Body Contour is equipped with a
oating shaving head, which optimally adapts to the skin in
order to ensure a perfectly smooth sha ve.
Y ou can use the ladyshav e either dr y or wet. If y ou shave
while taking a bath or show er , we advise you to use soap
or shaving f oam for the most comfor table shav e . After
use you can simply rinse the ladyshav e in the shower or
under the tap. Mak e sure the batter y compar tment is
proper l y closed dur ing w et use and when you clean the
appliance.
Important
Read this user manual carefully before y ou use the
appliance and sav e it for future reference.
W arning
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensor y
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they ha ve been given super vision
or instr uction concerning use of the appliance by a
per son responsib le for their safety .
Children should be super vised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Caution
Do not clean the appliance with water that is hotter
than shower temperature.
Use and store the appliance at a temperature
between 15°C and 35°C .
Make sure your hands and the appliance are dr y
when you inser t the batteries.
Do not use the shaving f oils and/or the comb
attachment if they are damaged or broken, as this
may cause injur y .
Be careful with hot water . Always check if the water
is not too hot, to prev ent your hands from getting
burnt.
This appliance is only intended for sha ving and
trimming human hair . Do not use it f or any other
purpose .
Compliance with standards
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
proper l y and according to the instr uctions in this
user manual, the appliance is safe to use based on
scientic evidence availab le today .
This appliance complies with the internationally
approv ed IEC safety regulations and can be safely
used in the bath or shower and cleaned under the
tap (Fig. 1).
General
This appliance can only be operated on batter ies.
Preparing for use
Inserting batteries
Inser t two R6 AA 1.5-volt batteries.
W e strongly advise y ou to use Philips LR6 P owerLife
batteries. They supply sufcient energy for approx. 40
minutes of sha ving.
T o a void damage due to battery leakage:
do not expose the ladyshav e to direct sunlight;
do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher
than 35°C .
Remov e the batter ies if y ou are not going to use the
appliance for a month or more.
do not leav e empty batter ies in the appliance.
1 Make sur e that your hands and the appliance ar e
dry when you insert the batteries.
2 Pull the upper part of the appliance off the lower
part (Fig. 2).
3 Insert the two batteries into the batter y
compartment (Fig. 3).
Note: Mak e sur e the + and - marks on the batteries matc h
those in the batter y compartment.

4 Reattach the lower part of the appliance to the
upper part.
The ladyshav e is now ready for use.
Using the appliance
Sha ving
1 Set the T rim/Sha v e slide to the ‘Sha v e’
position. (Fig. 4)
2 Put the desired sha ving foil on the sha ving head.
Use the golden sha ving foil to sha ve the
underarms (Fig. 5).
Use the golden sha ving foil to sha ve the bikini
zone (Fig. 6).
Use the silver sha ving foil to sha ve the legs (Fig. 7).
Do not use the silver sha ving foil to sha ve the
underarms and the bikini line to pre vent injuries.
3 Switch on the ladyshav e (Fig. 8).
4 Place the shaving unit gentl y on the skin and move
the ladysha ve slowly against the dir ection of hair
gro wth while pressing it lightly .
The angle between the skin and the ladysha ve
should be 70° to get the best results. (Fig. 7)
T rimming
Put the comb attachment onto the sha ving head to
trim the hairs to an ev en length (about 5mm), e.g. in
the bikini zone (Fig. 9).
The comb attachment can be put onto the shaving
head in different positions, depending on the area to be
trimmed.
1 Set the T rim/Sha v e slide to the ‘T rim’
position. (Fig. 10)
2 T o trim the bikini zone, place the comb attachment
on the sha ving head with the recess of the
attachment on the front of the a ppliance (Fig. 11).
3 T o trim the underarms, place the comb attachment
on the sha ving head with the recess of the
attachment on the back of the appliance. (Fig. 12)
4 Switch on the ladyshav e.
5 Move the a ppliance against the direction of hair
gro wth.
Make sur e the surface of the comb alwa ys stays in
contact with the skin (Fig. 13).
Shaping
1 Remove the comb attachment to sha pe precise
lines and contours, e.g. in the bikini zone (Fig. 14).
2 Lock the long hair trimmer by setting the T rim/
Sha ve slide to the ‘T rim’ position. (Fig. 10)
Cleaning and maintenance
Nev er use scouring pads, abrasiv e cleaning agents or
aggressiv e liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the
appliance.
After ev er y use
Clean the ladyshav e ever y time you ha ve used it.
1 Switch off the ladyshav e.
2 Remove the sha ving foil. (Fig. 15)
Do not exert any pr essure on the sha ving foil to a void
damage.
3 Gently shak e the shaving foil to r emove hairs or
clean it with the brush supplied.
4 Remove the cutter block (Fig. 16).
5 Clean the hair chamber with the brush
supplied (Fig. 17).
6 For extra thor ough cleaning, y ou can also rinse the
ladysha ve under the tap .

7 After cleaning, al wa ys put the comb attachment on
the appliance to pr otect the shaving foil (Fig. 9).
T wice a y ear
Lubricate the sha ving foil with a drop of sewing
machine oil twice a year (Fig. 18).

Storage
When you are not using the ladysha ve you can store it in
the shower b y hanging it upside down from the show er
loop.
Attach the shower loop to the a ppliance as shown
in the picture (Fig. 19).
Replacement
If you use the ladysha ve two or more times a w eek, we
advise you to replace the sha ving foils and cutter block
ever y one to two y ear s.
The silver sha ving foil may only be replaced with an
original Philips shaving foil (type HP6117/01).
The golden shaving f oil may only be replaced with an
original Philips shaving foil (type HP6121).
The cutter block ma y only be replaced with an
original Philips cutter block (type HP6111).
Envir onment
Do not throw awa y the appliance with the nor mal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in
at an ofcial collection point for recycling. By doing
this, y ou help to preser ve the environment (Fig. 20).
Batteries contain substances that may pollute the
environment. Do not thro w away empty batteries
with the normal household waste , but dispose of
them at an ofcial collection point for batteries.
Always remo ve the batteries before you discard and
hand in the appliance at an ofcial collection point.
