Important
Read these instr uctions for use carefully before y ou use
the appliance and sav e them for future reference.
Danger
Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other
uid, nor r inse it under the tap. Use only a moist
cloth to clean the motor unit.
W arning
Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance
corresponds to the mains voltage in your home
before you connect the appliance.
Do not use the appliance if the plug, the mains cord
or other par ts are damaged.
If the mains cord is damaged, y ou must ha ve it
replaced by Philips, a ser vice centre author ised by
Philips or similar ly qualied persons in order to avoid
a hazard.
Never let the appliance run unattended.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensor y
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they ha ve been giv en super vision
or instr uction concerning use of the appliance by a
per son responsible for their saf ety .
Children should be super vised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Do not touch the blades, especially when the
appliance is plugged in. The blades are ver y sharp.
If the blades get stuck, unplug the appliance before
you remo ve the ingredients that block the b lades.
Caution
Switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the
mains before you change accessories or approach
par ts that mov e dur ing use.
This appliance is intended for household use only .
Do not exceed the quantities and processing times
indicated in the table.
Do not process more than three batches without
interr uption. Let the appliance cool down to room
temperature before you continue processing.

regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
proper ly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic
evidence availab le today .
Overheat pr otection
This appliance is equipped with ov erheat protection. If the
appliance ov erheats, it switches off automaticall y . Unplug
the appliance and let it cool down for 5 min utes. Then
put the mains plug back into the wall socket and switch
on the appliance again. Please contact y our Philips dealer
or an authorised Philips ser vice centre if the overheat
protection is activated too often.
Before first use
Thoroughly clean the par ts that will come into contact
with food before using the appliance for the rst time
(see chapter ‘Cleaning’).
Preparing for use
1 Let hot ingredients cool do wn before chopping
them or pouring them into the beak er (max.
temperature 80 °C).
2 Cut large ingredients into pieces of a pproximatel y 2
cm before pr ocessing them.
3 Assemble the appliance pr operly befor e plugging it
into the wall socket.

Using the appliance
Hand blender
The hand blender is intended for :
blending uids, e .g. dair y products, sauces, fruit juices,
soups, mix ed drinks and shakes.
mixing soft ingredients, e.g. pancake batter or
may onnaise .
pureeing cooked ingredients, e .g. f or making baby
food.
1 Attach the blender bar to the motor unit
(‘click’) (Fig. 2).
2 Immerse the blade guard completely in the
ingredients (Fig. 3).
3 Switch the appliance on by pr essing the normal or
turbo speed button.
4 Blend the ingredients b y moving the appliance
slowly up and down and in cir cles (Fig. 4).
Chopper (HR1364/1363 only)
The chopper is intended for chopping ingredients such as
nuts, meat, onions, hard cheese , boiled eggs, gar lic , herbs,
dr y bread etc .
The blades are v er y sharp! Be very careful when
handling the blade unit, especially when removing it
from the chopper bo wl, when emptying the chopper
bowl and during cleaning.
1 Put the chopper blade unit in the chopper
bowl (Fig. 5).
2 Put the ingredients in the chopper bo wl.
3 Put the coupling unit onto the chopper
bowl (Fig. 6).
4 Fasten the motor unit onto the chopper bowl
(‘click’) (Fig. 7).
5 Switch the appliance on by pr essing the normal or
turbo speed button.
If the ingredients stick to the wall of the chopper
bowl, loosen them by adding liquid or using a
spatula.
Alwa ys let the appliance cool down after chopping
meat.
Whisk (type HR1364/HR1362 only)
The whisk is intended for whipping cream, whisking egg
whites, desser ts etc.
1 Connect the whisk to the coupling unit (Fig. 8).
2 Connect the coupling unit to the motor unit
(‘click’) (Fig. 9).
3 Put the ingredients in a bo wl.
Tip: Use a large bowl f or the best result.
4 Immerse the whisk completely in the ingr edients
and to a void splashing start processing at
normal speed by pressing the normal speed
button. (Fig. 10)
5 Continue with turbo speed after appr ox. 1 minute
by pressing the turbo speed button.
Cleaning
1 Unplug the appliance and detach the accessories
before cleaning.
2 Clean the beak er , the chopping bo wl (HR1364/1363
only), the chopper blade unit(HR1364/1363 only),
the chopper coupling unit (HR1364/1363 only) and
the whisk without coupling unit (HR1364/1362
only) in the dishwasher or in warm water with
some washing-up liquid.
It is recommended to remov e the r ubber ring from the
chopper bowl before cleaning.
3 The blade unit of the blender bar and the whisk can
also be cleaned while still attached to the motor
unit by immersing them in warm water with some
washing-up liquid and letting the appliance run for a
while.
4 Wipe the motor unit and the whisk coupling unit
(HR1364/HR1362 only) with a moist cloth.
Do not immerse the motor unit and the whisk coupling
unit (HR1364/1362 only) in water .

Envir onment
Do not thro w awa y the a ppliance with the normal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand
it in at an ofcial collection point for r ecycling.
By doing this you will help to pr eser ve the
envir onment (Fig. 11).

ser vice code number 4203 035 83450) from your Philips
dealer or a Philips ser vice centre as an extr a accessor y
for the HR1364, HR1363, HR1362 and HR1361.
